Was he ever going to live up to the much heralded anticipation?
Feel a bit sorry for the lad, he was expected to be Roy of the Rovers.
Another question is, was he ever fit enough to play in the EFL?

My youngest is going to devastated. That double he scored towards the end of the season (forgot who against) had him calling him “unbelievable”

Shame - he was a real handful in the last few games of last season - looked promising. Obviously something isn't right either with his attitude or lifestyle.

Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

Bit surprised, but two managers have now looked at him in a professional environment and said no. 3 if including Newcastle.
EBJ at least has certainty that he can recruit one as a minimum in January. Think we will try and get Quigley permanently in any event. It will be interesting to watch the development in the run up to the window. Who is in and out of favour etc.

Not sure if anyone can find anything more recent.

Any idea if Dale got their initial fee back by selling charman to AFC Fylde..
Also will Darlington be entitled to anything..

I seem to recall Darlo touting the sale as good for them as they would get a percentage of any sell on.

The worm of time turns not for the cuckoo of circumstance.

On the basis that the best ability is availability and comparing body language and "perceived" attitude, Quigley seems a far better option than Luke. Don't know the goals/game numbers, but this seems like a good bit of business to me, especially if it means we could use the fee on an upgrade in Jan as well, as you suggest.

Up the Dale - NOT for sale!

Usually sell-ons are a percentage of any profit over the original fee. Might not be the case here but, for example, I don’t think we got anything for Craig Dawson going to West Ham as it was less than Watford had paid West Brom for him.

What is it with KFC Fylde and our cast offs?

Let's wait and see the reasons. A few people quick to write him off as having fitness or attitude problems. Maybe we just got an offer and considered it good business sense?

Would've loved to have seen him fully fit and doing what he did at the back end of last season over a period of time

If we've got our money back, fair enough and it can only be a non-footballing issue that's resulted in his departure. Maybe he kept doing terrible farts in the changing rooms

In a recent interview EBJ mentioned a player who had a ridiculous commute because he hadn't got a place sorted closer to Rochdale... could be a factor?

Fylde isn't exactly close to the north east though if indeed the player referred to was Charman.

Presuming he's based in the Durham area, I'd say Rochdale is easier to get to than the Fylde coast.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

In that case, who's the commuter?
EEL? Scott Quigley? The latter tweeted something about seeing an accident on the motorway enroute to the Doncaster game.

Quigley is based in the North Wales/Shropshire area, which the manager would have known when he brought him in.

Poor sod. Not the best place to stay as a young lad. The players used to stay at Norton Grange where they could use the gym, pool and saunas etc.

Good luck to him and sorry it didn't work out with us
