Well, the money markets didn't like the mini budget. I met Liz Truss in a hotel in Monmouth a few years ago. She said her solution to pensioner poverty would be to feed them on Pedigree Chum. Not only would this save a lot of money, it would give them shiny coats and a nice cold nose.
We have had more Chancellors in last few weeks than Watford FC have had new managers 🤣
There are children born in early September, who have gone through two monarchs, PMs - and if rumours are true, a third might be soon, chancellors, Chelsea and Watford managers in their young lives!
Seriously, when the tenure of a QPR manager is your only constant stabilising influence, you know the country is up the creek. Utter farce and it's not even the panto season yet.

Not only that but according to Nostradamus the current monarch will abdicate "The Monarch of The Isles" (2024?)But the successor will not be the "next successor". It's never dull is it?
Lord Hammond was just on Radio 4 commenting on the situation and said that ideology had been allowed to override common sense and the day to day running of the country. I think he got that right.
Ed Milliband said today's events marked the death of the trickle down ideology, ironically referring to an ideology that Hammond had previously championed, although, to be fair to Hammond, he has a reputation as someone who did run the numbers through a spreadsheet rather than just crossing his finger that the country's finances would be just fine.
Where does it go from here?
PS: If there is all too heavy for you, there's a lovely thread talking about animals catching fish and another exploring the one degree of separation between Nathan Jones and a jelly
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."
Sacking Kartang for implementing Truss’s election policies is like a football manager sacking his coach or assistant when results and performances hit the floor. She is the one who needs to go.
There was a good reason that the Tory MPs voted for Sunak in large numbers. However, the Tory party members and wealthy backers couldn’t bring themselves to vote for an a Prime Minister from an Indian heritage. After all, it is less than 80 years ago when India was under British rule.
I feel sorry for Kwasi - he flew home early from the US, his arms must have been very tired, just to hear he'd been given the jolly old heave ho. Hunt was a dazzling success at Health(!). I'd have more faith in the Monster Raving Loony Party.
I don't pretend to be an expert but it feels to me the whole mini budget was designed to favour the 1% to the detriment of the 99%.
Government's are there to look after the country as a whole. Clearly either side is never going to attain that 100% but maybe the current government have been found out where their loyalties really lie.
Will people swallow their pride and admit the Tories are wrong? Probably not.
Even if Labour win the next election, it'll just be the same mud slinging and name calling across Parliament and Labour would retort any slowness is down to sorting over a decade of the previous governments mess, which would be true to a degree.
It's just a mess and it's been building up to this for years.
Lizard's sacked KK, but hasn't given the reason(s) why and basically made him the fall guy for her incompetence.
Another u-turn from her, this time on corporation tax. Her performance and communication at that presser was shockingly poor and utterly embarrassing. Fecks after not even answering four (4) questions.
What I find even more stupid: she says she grew up in a depressed area. But hold up: she grew up under the Tory governments of Thatcher and Major. So she's blaming them!!
More out of her depth than Nico H.

I'm no expert but it was bizarre watching that press conference, it almost felt uncomfortable.
And the very strange looking around for reports who names she knew or something? I think it had got to her and she left - almost impossible to answer any questions I suspect as there are not really any answers.
The pressure she must be feeling must be immense, and won't go away. I'd have thought she'd almost want to resign to get out of the heat as such.
Other than the corporation tax change, I don't think anything else was announced, be interesting to see how that plays out with the pound / markets and if the announcement on other changes stays at 31st Oct.
October 19th is the anniversary of Black Monday(1987)
Just saying like....
So from her stance during the Tory leadership campaign where she stated she would 'not be giving any handouts' to help people with their soaring energy bills...
To then flip-flopping and allocating £ 160bn for this very same hand-out...and answering every question since with...but what about my energy bills bail-out...that I said I would'nt do

Is there anything left she has'nt U-turned on?
Yes.She hasn't done a U turn on U turns...or a U turn on jiggling up and down.
Markets now in turmoil .Paper gold contracts have slumped while physical gold prices have surged - most interesting.

She has earned her sobriquet The Iron Weathercock for a reason.
