Don’t get why anyone would risk a three year ban now. Imagine telling people “I’m not going to games until 2025 because I overdid it when we went 1-0 up at Rochdale”.
I sincerely hope they’re ok as well. Shows the danger of flares in a confined space if that was the cause. There looked to be a bit of trouble up at the railway station as well. One or two bloodied faces amongst the Crewe fans but unsure of the circumstances.

I've never forgiven them for nicking Steve Conroy's gloves in 1983.
If you don't know why your posts keep getting downvoted, there's no hope for you.
Likewise I hope the Crewe Fan is okay. It is reckless and dangerous to let those flares off anywhere where other people are nearby and even more so in a confined space. The mindless idiots would be totally oblivious to those around them who have any medical problems particularly respiratory ones. I hope those supporters of ours who let flares off at away games will learn from this.
I'm totally ignorant about flares - how big are they ? Presumably they can fit into a pocket or security would pick them up?
Surprisingly they are about the size of your little toe.
Now I haven't seen your little toe nor do I want to. I expect I'm the last person you'd show your little toe to either. Even at Gillingham away! Little toes can vary but I suspect a flare is the equivalent of yours.
If it was the size of my little toe, the Crewe fan would be scattered on Gresty Road by Friday!
