Not gonna lie, this one has hit me like a train. I'm absolutely heart-broken. Shane Warne is the reason I started playing cricket and started bowling leg spin. He's one of my all-time heroes. An absolute genius and easily the best bowler I ever had the joy of watching. Brilliant pundit as well.

Sure I recall one of the pundits say something along the lines of Warne could make a tennis ball spin on glass. His variation and knowing when to use them was mightily impressive. I believe he lived life to the full. There's going to be an almighty knees up in the pavilion in the sky. I wonder if he is bowling a few googlies at Bradman in heaven's nets.

Edit... since read it appears to be a suspected massive heart attack whilst on a holiday with mates in Thailand, found unresponsive around 5pm in his room.

That's Warney. Just watched the vid of him bowling that "ball of the century" at Old Trafford, and for once, that tribute isn't overblown. He truly was a great, and in many ways responsible for re-introducing the art of spin bowling to Test cricket after an era dominated by the quicks
So, he changed the cricket world. There's very few that applies to, in any sphere

Warne was right about his love/hate relationship with England fans, but I'm sure every single cricket fan will be shedding a tear at the news of his passing. He singlehandedly raised the popularity of the game at a time when it was in the doldrums.

Very sad news. A thoroughly loveable rogue, and a simply brilliant cricketer.
My grandfather knew a thing or two about cricket and would honestly be bewildered by the things Warne could do with a ball. I spent many an evening throwing a ball down and trying to be like Shane Warne...but sadly for me, breeze blocks moved more!
