Dale v Notts Match Thread.. 10:59 - Nov 7 with 15369 views | dale1968 | Looking forward to todays game.. Ist Rd day always seems to have a special feel about it and a home tie as well. Hopefully the recent good form carries on in to todays game and we can progress? But as we know the cup throws up upsets so lets hope today is not one of them. UTDNFS

The manager said in his interview on Friday that we had a couple of players who had picked up knocks this week. Must be Newby and Taylor.

Fair enough. Basically a full strength team then. Good to see Andrews back on the bench

Could be 3-5-2 with Morley in the holding role?

Not sure Dooley is as effective in the wide forward position. A goal at the end covers over the cracks. Hope the get a bollocking at HT. Also O'Keefe loses his head way too easily nearly cost us a few times.

It was on the away commentary, but you didn't miss much 1-0 Dale with a goal just before the half time whistle from O'Keefe. Bad marking from a corner ( no, not by us by them) and he takes his time to strike home. Sounded like an even game up to then with both sides having a couple of decent efforts, but overall not a lot of quality. You would hope we can push on and bring the game home against lower league position especially if we can cut out mistakes

O'Keefe has been caught out of position today quite often. The first 44 minutes were an extremely boring watch.

Wouldn't put the whole blame on Lynch there wasn't a defender near him either. [Post edited 7 Nov 2021 16:46]

Finished 1-1. An extra game we could have done without especially if we lose. Didn't sound like we deserved to win over the 90 minutes. Poor result although we are still in the draw for the next round

Dale v Notts Match Thread.. on 17:39 - Nov 7 with 5770 views | 1907 | Team selection, formation, substitutions, game management, defending = awful. Becoming a regular occurrence this. I’m sorry but a few more weeks of home performances like this and Stockdale will be under ridiculous pressure. Let’s not beat about the bush, that today was absolutely effing dreadful. The desire and belief to win is just absolutely none existent in this group. Yeah, we keep picking up the odd win & sit reasonably comfortable in mid table but, home performances like that are unacceptable. I’m sure some will be happy rolling out the excuses of the summer, off the pitch issues etc, however the reality is that Stockdale had assembled a highly capable squad that could actually achieve something, if it believed it could. And the buck therein lies at the feet of one man. Can anyone actually explain to me how we tried to WIN that game? We make one substitution, expectedly/predictably swapping Dooley for Morley, then what? Stockdale stood on the sidelines for 30 minutes scratching his head looking like McLaren against Croatia. That today was BBMesque. Not what was promised at the fans forum in the summer (as someone who sits around me quoted today). Finally can we talk about the man management of Sam Graham. Never in 30 years of watching Dale have I seen a player look so lacking in confidence. His body language is so worrying that it’s at a stage where I feel genuinely concerned for him. Yet he’s Stockdale’s first name on the team sheet week in week out. Can anybody explain this because I’m beyond words now? No fear has never felt farther away from our current mindset!
Dale v Notts Match Thread.. on 17:42 - Nov 7 with 5722 views | Delboy | A direct free kick in last minutes of game, shooting opportunity, just 10 yards left of centre just on the edge of the area. Who takes it ?? Kelly, Morley ?? No....its O'Connell the biggest man we have and a physical presence in the area the defenders and keeper need to worry about. To me its another strategic on field decision which seems to have no logic except in the mind of the players involved.. Is there no one more likely to pose a threat from such a postion other than our centre back captain ? If not it seems a poor state of affairs that he believes he has to take the responsibility because he believes no one else is capable.
