I was in the centre stand that day, watching us play Spurs in a Combination game, people had radios on and when Garry Stanley scored the winner, a big roar went up.

Play stopped for a second on the field they all looked at the stand in amazement

What a player was Gary Stanley, Max Thomson and others Ante and Dzemal think I enjoyed then more than the recent adventures, remarkable times given the economic situation at that time, might have been more to do with me and my now Wife of 38yrs being a football fanatic, unbelievable lady she is fairplay.

Missed the nihilation of Leeds was on way home from Hols, don't think me and my good Lady missed a match at home all season and most of the away games, we weren't married then so it was easier, Malcolm Struel wanted the best, but it was a well meaning fanciful idea, we just couldn't afford it and it all came crumbling down.

The 2-0 win against both Manc's were especially fantastic.

Apparently there were many things that did not add up financially during that time, I will leave it there. It was a disaster waiting to happen, fantastic times though.
