Arsene lost it in the last few seasons at Arsenal and it seems he still aint a clue......

failed manager call for world cup every two years on 08:57 - Sep 24 with 2698 views | Zac_B | Though I'm not a fan of the World Cup being held every two years, and therefore not feeling like a special competition, I'd be in favour of 'blocks' of qualifying which I think he is proposing. The constant stop/start of the top two divisions for international football is fairly annoying and doesn't allow much time for international players to gel. Then again, I don't follow England so much so maybe I'm biased. By the way, I bet Arsenal wouldn't mind another 'failed' manager coming along...

It’s twice as many qualifying games irrespective of how you bunch them. Wouldn’t it be a spectacle, having to play Sam Marino, Andorra and the Gators twice as often…and in the years in between we might draw them in our euro qualifying group. Times up Arsenal…..you really have lost it.

I think the proposal is for just six qualifying games to be played between a group of four in that one month period, as opposed to ten across multiple international breaks at the moment. Also, the lesser countries you mention would need to qualify for the qualifiers meaning that England would no longer face them so much. Like I say, I'm not massively into international football so perhaps it's easy for me to say it's worth giving it a go.
failed manager call for world cup every two years on 12:52 - Sep 24 with 2374 views | TVOS1907 | While I think his ideas are a bit crackpot (a bit like Pep wanting City to have a B team in the EFL just to suit them), how is Wenger a failed manager? Twenty-two years in charge at Highbury/Emirates, three Premier League titles, seven FA Cups, seven Charity Shields, bringing the likes of Henry, Bergkamp, Pires, Petit, etc, to the English game , many individual awards and 1235 games in charge of The Gunners with a 57% win rate! Some failure.

I've no idea what his record was in the last ten years, but Arsenal have hardly thrived since, have they? Maybe the financial limitations imposed by the Arsenal owners made it nigh on impossible to 'move with the times' (i.e. keep up with the spending of other clubs like, City, Chelsea, United & Liverpool) I just don't think his record across all 22 years merits him being called a "failed" manager. He still won four FA Cups in those ten years, and now holds the record for most FA Cup wins. Do you class Brian Clough as a 'failed manager' as he oversaw Forest's relegation from the Premier League?

And a great deal of that is down to Arsenal's move to the Emirates, which took a great deal of their finance and attention away from the playing side. Arsenal continue to underfund a team with their aspirations, hence their diminished record in the period since then [Post edited 24 Sep 2021 13:30]

failed manager call for world cup every two years on 14:58 - Sep 24 with 2197 views | Quigley_dale | Clearing up the football calendar... *No international breaks during the season *Qualification (with reduced games) to be played during the off season before a tournament, for both World cups, and Continental cups. *Winter break to be introduced around February before the champions league restarts *Increase World cup to 64, to appease FIFA and the smaller confederations.
