The majority of players we've had from Man City haven't really been up to it, to be honest, if you look back through history.
We've had better loanees from Brighton, Luton and Sheffield United in the last three years.
Your correct TVOS, I can’t recall anyone city have loaned us that added much. Think Chris Shuker and Willo Flood were on loan and could have been decent, but still does not make up for Bazuna!
It seems like for every 6 players we bring in on loan from higher level (champs up) 1 is good and makes a real contribution and 1 is ok. The rest we may as well not have bothered. Loans from clubs at our level seem historically more fruitful, be it the loan or us then signing them permanently.
Every Team Needs A John Ryan - The Winger Who's a Ringer!!!!!

That's not exclusive to Dale, though. There are loads of loan players in the lower divisions. We only really hear about the successful ones.
When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?
Agreed. Be nice to get a COG, Le Fondre or Holt though. We must be due one!
Holt (presuming you mean Grant) was never on loan.
I'm sure every club would love loan strikers who score loads of goals, but like I've said, they are rare and you only hear about the few successful ones.

I really liked Willo Flood in his short spell and would have liked him permanent as he was only young at the time obviously went on to have a decent career in Scotland.
The only other one I could think of was Kelvin Etuhu who looked brilliant in that short spell before getting injured. 2 goals in 4 games. Don't think he ever found form like it again.

That injury really seemed to take a yard of pace off Etuhu but he's fashioned a decent career for himself as a central midfielder.
I feel that we are following in the footsteps of Southend, replacing experience players with kids with no experience, appointing a manager with no league experience, we all know whats happened at Southend and what league they are in now. Why can't RS sign experience and capable league 1 & 2 players? is it down to his youth coach background.
I had faith in RS, but my faith is waning and I am worried now about our league status this season, even worse we are crying for some with experience in the midfield and up front and all we get is another kid with no league experience in defence. If EOC goes we are totally stuffed.
We are no longer in L1. The loan market frequently shows young players go out to a Conference or L2 club initially, like Osho, with the next loan being at the higher level. We now trade at a lower level, we cannot expect to get loanees that were loaned to a L1 club previously.
The comparison with Southend doesn’t stand up. They are an Essex property developer owned club (I hope lightning can’t strike twice) where the club was under an embargo for long periods and had to play half a dozen academy players in many games. They were in massive problems on and of the pitch, with debts totalling 17 million only a couple of months ago. By the way the debt has since been reduced by a whopping 6 million. No, not by a player sale, or sale of any asset, the owner’s company took the debt on. That way the risk to the club disappears, not!!!
