"We now believe that the shares are not “acquired” until the share transfers have been signed by the Club"

"The EFL Head of Governance Ryan Hyde wrote to us on Friday afternoon and confirmed that they “cannot find any evidence of the source and sufficiency of funding on behalf of the potential purchaser having been provided to us.”

No shares actually "purchased" by these people as of today.

Just saying, but:

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has warned that the action of employees taking the proprietary information of their employer unauthorised when leaving a business is a criminal offence. Unlawfully obtaining or accessing personal data is a criminal offence under section 55 of the Data Protection Act 1998.

This might be relevant in respect of recently-departed individuals. It is certainly relevant for those still employed.

Squeaky bum time for somebody?

I hope a real investigation is undertaken in relation to this, involving the police and forensic accountants if necessary.

I've got a feeling its going to be brushed under the carper, however.

It's the only way to effectively clear the air and rid the entire episode of a lingering stench of suspicion. Make sure the full facts are known by investigating them properly, otherwise there will never be an end to speculation. The club and the shareholders need to know.

I certainly think that any shareholder who has been approached out of the blue has a legal right to know how the contact details were acquired, and to take the necessary steps they see fit.

This is a criminal matter, and should be treated as such.

If any shareholder has heard from Alex Jarvis and wondered how their details were illegally obtained it's a good chance to ask him.

Alternatively, forward to email to George Delves at the club.

Hmmm.

No idea how these new prospective owners are connected.

Some digging required, methinks.

Looks like Manley was the longstanding "accountant" for business involving Andy Curran including hosting their head office for 6 years.

That business is currently being liquidated.

Defrauding creditors - what terrible behaviour.

Agree 100%. Theres no messing about when it comes to GDPR and someone is going to be in very serious trouble. They must be very confident they’ve covered their tracks…

As an aside, does Jarvis get into trouble to for using those details without questioning the legality of receiving them?

A list as long as your arm of businesses that have been dissolved - which is not a bad thing in and of itself - does tend to hint at questionable business practices.

The report on the government website proves it.

It all sounds very murky. Needs looking into, and I'm sure the EFL will be very interested at unpicking all this after the bury debacle and events at the likes of Swindon etc.

I'm not very well up on these murky webs of interlinked companies, which pop up then disappear like a game of whack-a-mole every time a creditor needs paying or whatever? It does all seems to follow a similar pattern to a certain motorcycle enthusiast with a big car though? So it's probably not a good thing then?

Surely the seeming instigators of "discussions with interested parties" and signing of NDAs (who have now left the building) would have undertaken this types of investigation as part of their job? It would be the very epitome of hard work wouldn't it? Unless it was the kind of hard work that was in the best interests of the club, in which case the absence of such findings is damning in the extreme. And not a surprise either.

Has anybody reported Bottomley to the police yet? Or is this something the Trust can do on behalf of the club?

You are right to point that out.

In the modern world though much harder than one thinks to hide all of that.

Here's an example:

£180m seized; just like that.

Driving around in a flash motor with Alex Jarvis by your side is the obvious way to attract a magnet of attention to your profile.

Blimey, wasn't there a Twitter account set up called Terry-Crypto or summat, with posts in support of this attempted takeover?

Speaking of Terry, I do hope Kel’s replacement windows weren’t too expensive.

Alexander Jarvis' Twitter profile used to mention cryptocurrency he's now changed it to just finance. During the weekend of all the rumours there was two separate Twitter accounts that I noticed created that included 'crypto' or similar in the account name. One spouted immature comments in favour of the takeover I didn't see the comments from the other account as it had been deleted by the time I'd noticed it. Both had been deleted by the end of the weekend with all the messages they'd sent as well.
