" On moving into the role of Chief Operating Officer, George Delves commented: “It is important to be clear that this isn’t a direct replacement for the CEO role, rather that there has been a fundamental shift in how the club wishes to function, meaning that specific role is no longer required at the present time."

So it would appear that the CEO was made redundant.
If so this is a brilliant move from the board as a way to get rid as it should have vastly reduced any potential settlement pay out he would have been due.

What’s not to like about those statements. Fully supportive of all that, especially the DoF piece. Getting Smallwood in to put some resource and drive into the share offering is also very positive.

So far so good with the new board. I just hope our American friends are equally impressed with efforts to deal with the issues they alluded to. We need them inside the tent at the moment. Actually think one of them joining the board would make sense right now. And I wouldn’t have said that when Dan first landed.

Excellent changes and communication of them

I'd pondered on the potential for George Delves to step up to fulfil relevant duties in the vacancy created by DB leaving a few days ago. The way this has been thought through bodes really well, and good to hear there will be a thorough recruitment process for the new manager - not rushed

Poll: What are you planning to do v Newport

quickly ridding ourselves of those who were motivated by egos and money and replaced by those who want to rebuild a sustainable football club that the town and supporters can be proud of.

To think that our ex manager, the one who took us down and set new club records for futility, would expect us to pay him for going away, based on the terms of a contract extension cobbled together in secret with another former employee.
