Only reason I can think of is they're expecting to get some feedback in players signing new deals by then.

Great business to get such a fee for Baah but could be paid over 5 years with the being the length of the contract.

All’s well that ends well. The City shenanigans must have been a hell of a setback. His head was well and truly turned. His leaving was inevitable.
Credit to BBM for luring him here by offering first team action. Both parties have done well out of this. He was cheap for us, gained us lots of attention and praise. The fans also liked him. He got his move closure to home and we got more than the compensation package would have been.
