Confirmed.
Must have been impressed by the way he set up that goal for them at Fratton Park.

Released Players Thread on 22:46 - Jul 8 with 7027 views | NorthernDale | The new board as a lot of issues to deal with at the moment. However I am getting concerned that the board seems unconcerned in respect to recruitment. When BBM left a week ago, they said the recruitment of a manager would take around two weeks and then recruitment of players would start. So they are effectively limiting the recruitment to less then three weeks, before the season starts and we all know the only players generally left are the general unwanted rubbish, no one else wants. They may be come cheap, but they are the type of players that will ensure that if we are lucky, we will become at best a bog standard league 2 team. The board said their aim was to get back to league 1, but those words seem hollow at the moment by the lack of inaction. I am also concerned that any decent bids for Dale players will be accepted, sadly DB negative approach to the squad seems to be embedded into the mindset of the club at the moment.

The aim will be to get back into League One at some point. That said, will everything that has gone on since, I'd be delighted to just stay in League Two next season and have a platform to build on from there when hopefully we may be a little more stable.

The process of hiring a manager takes time. I made the point on Twitter recently that had the board been in place for a while, then having potential candidates lined up to consider would be something they'd have as a back-up plan in case BBM left or needed to be sacked. I'm imagining that was quite far down their list of priorities as I suspect they weren't expecting their manager to walk away 2/3 days into pre-season. They've had to start that process from scratch, no doubt with plenty of other distractions occurring at the same time. Had they rushed this appointment and had we lost the first 4 or 5 games of the season, everyone would've been losing their minds asking why we hadn't taken the time to find the right candidate. I also have to massively disagree about players being left towards the end of the window being 'unwanted rubbish'. Think of some of the players we've picked up late on in windows or even after the season has started in the last few years. Humphrys was signed a day before last season started. McShane was signed in October of the previous season. Keohane and Lund were signed on January deadline days. I'd so much rather have the right manager picking from a smaller pool of players in a week's time than the wrong manager picking from a larger pool right now.

Not to mention that we are in the throes of a hostile takeover (one which by-passed the current board and involved buying shares from those holders who wanted rid, some of whom may have already been shown the Spotland door). The "new owner(s)" have made it known that 2 new board members will be installed and talks are no doubt taking place regularly, by necessity, with the new owner(s) and without them to form a "what if" strategy. I suspect there is very little twiddling of thumbs. Quite the contrary - sure they are all working very hard, they just aren't taking great pains to tell us so every time a camera approaches. What they are doing is giving meaningful info out when a camera approaches - a refreshing change. With everything going on, I'm sure finding the right manager (in their view) is proceeding as quickly as possible. From memory, I think Simon said they were interviewing this week in fact? Absolutely agree with this, and it's important that any new manager is given time to take stock and build his own squad, which could take more than one season When KH took over and transformed our fortunes in a flash, it was a once in a lifetime event and even then it took more than three seasons to get promoted. Okay we've got players whose qualities should have kept us in L1 but it's a very destabilised and i'm guessing unhappy squad right now All of the above is contingent upon the makeup of the boardroom too. Until that's clear, and unless we remain 'Dale as we know it' all bets are off

Good player, who could have done a job for a year or so. However, he's signed for Boston. More than a feeling he didn't enjoy his time as Caretaker Manager at Donny, and wants to just play for as long as possible.

NML still available who is a class above ( or should that be a class A above?) He could be getting offers all over and hanging on for a. Better deal or he really may be a pariah now that is not wanted by anyone. Got to be worth a chat though once we get a manager, even if it seems unlikely!

Released Players Thread on 19:38 - Jul 10 with 5857 views | leedsdale | I’m not necessarily saying we should sign him, but there is more than one connection between Stockdale and David Wheater - both born in Redcar and their paths will have likely crossed at Middlesbrough

Also put a link on to Premier League released lists but some players will already have been snapped up. Coyle and Hardy at Liverpool for example have signed for Accrington and Mark Helm from United has gone to Burnley U23's.

Released Players Thread on 12:50 - Jul 13 with 5192 views | TomRAFC | Hopefully Stockdale has seen players come through academies/in the Scottish leagues who he is convinced can cut it in league 1. They may be free agents, in the lower leagues, or anywhere for that matter. There may be bargains to be had.

Not sure, to be honest. You could well be right. I know Swindon's fans weren't impressed with him.
