We have had more red cards (2), than shots on target (1) in the last 3 games of football.

Happy Tuesday

Leave the stats to me, SD

So what is our record run of minutes without scoring?

Being Dale i would guess we are currently nowhere near the worst ever run but the way the last few games have panned out with barely a shot on target we do seem to want to make a an attempt at the record.

The record is nine games without scoring, from 14th March 1980 (a 0-2 home loss to York) to 26th April 1980 (a 0-2 loss at Doncaster).

In the game before York, we scored in the 77th minute (v Lincoln); in the game after Doncaster, we scored in the 52nd minute (v Newport).

Ergo, I make that 875 minutes.

However, in that season, we defeated Doncaster 3-2 at home on 12th February, but scored only once in the next 15 games (the aforementioned 1-1 with Lincoln).

That means between Chris Jones' 43rd minute winner v Doncaster and Jimmy Seal's 52nd minute opener v Newport on 29th April, the only Dale goal seen in 1449 minutes of action was Dave Esser's 77th minute strike v Lincoln.

Ok thanks TVOS!

Some way to go yet then before BBM becomes a record breaker.
We're 5 games and around 500 minutes at the moment by my reckoning. Hard to see us scoring at Sunderland so chances are it'll be 6 games and around 590 minutes by Saturday evening.

The only goal I can see us scoring at the minute is Baah being brought down in the box on one of his runs leading to a pen. If it's at home. we'd surely miss the pen? Away it might just go in?

Up the Dale - NOT for sale!

We have failed to score in five consecutive league games for the first time since October/November 1999.

On that occasion we went six league matches [and one FA Cup tie] without scoring.

A more niche stat though - last night was Dale’s 100th Tuesday league fixture in March (and the 50th away).

Meanwhile, Hull's second goal was the 500th we've conceded away in March in all competitions, while the defeat was our 150th away loss in March, again in all competitions!

Those latter figures will be reached in league football if we lose at Sunderland on Saturday.
