England v Wales tonight on 16:56 - Oct 9 by Paddyhoops | I think you did that years ago in the old lansdowne Road. The game was abandoned due to severe crowd violence!! |
Yeah that was bad I was also at the game a year or two before that (Euro qualifier I think) which had violence you would not believe Some bright spark allowed an IRA sympathy march to start at5:30pm on Gresham Street after the game had kicked off at 2:30pm. The whole of Temple Bar was a battleground and arses were kicked. It seemed to be a shock the next game erupted in violence for some reason

You are right and I apologise to all for hijacking the thread. I guess I was still frustrated at our Euro exit this morning and speculating at the difference those two would have made in mid-field, versus McCarthy and Hourihane (Hendrik played bloody well mind)

not the greatest idea for the FAI to put the England fans in the top tier. Bless them they didn't need much encouragement to kick off the violence but to give them the gift if gravity to assist the flying debris on the poor souls below!! FFS.🤦â€â™‚ï¸

You have poked the bear now Myke wait until Brian Mac gets fired up 😊 Both Rice and Grealish basically used the Green shirt to get noticed by the English top brass and once they were in the picture the decision was easy.Once they were not capped in a competitive game the chance was gone and their path ahead looks pretty good with England .If they did not want to play for Ireland so be it .Grealish is really coming into his own right now while Rice appears to be slipping down the list a bit . As for the qualifier Kenny should take a long look in the mirror about his performance .Putting in Long with 8 minutes to go against a dead Slovakian backline was criminal.Put him in after 90 minutes to see if he could cause problems and sneak a goal.He did not even take a penalty . Look at the Northern Ireland manager and his brilliant move putting in Washington and another spot kick specialist at in injury time and they both delivered at No 4 and 5 . They could actually qualify now against the odd and if they do fair play to them
England v Wales tonight on 02:06 - Oct 10 with 1646 views | BrianMcCarthy | Brian Mc won't get fired up, Clareman. Not in the slightest. This stuff is ancient history. Decades ago. I was born a Rangers fan and born in London. I'm English. My parents are Irish. My childhood years were in Ireland. I'm Irish. I would prefer to play for Rangers or Cork than Ireland or England.

England v Wales tonight on 12:45 - Oct 9 by makaveli1882 | What like the sh1tcaant James McClean who played for Northern Ireland u21s but is now the King of Ireland. Similar to Grealish who never played for senior team and declined the invitation to play for them. The main difference is both Grealish and Rice are English. The Irish national team has been a farce for years half the players had never been to before playing for them, Tony Cascarino Clinton Morrison pahahaha. Since 1930 Ireland have played in only 3 World Cups, in the two world cups that both teams participated in England went further in both.... the other was 1994. We do have one winners medal that is next to our Rugby and Cricket ones. |
Jeez you hate Ireland don't you. All teams take the talent they can get. Terry butcher, Tony dorigo, John Barnes. Isn't an Irishman cpt of the English cricket team. Who gives a foch
England v Wales tonight on 07:39 - Oct 10 with 1552 views | davman | Back to the OP. As much as it isn't really football as we know it, I understand why it may have been restarted - non-cynically because it gives our sports loving nation something to watch as opposed to cynically being just for the money. What I don't understand, however, is why we have groups of people crossing the length and breadth of the country just to play. Regional leagues just for this season, no League Cup or FA Cup should have been considered as an option. But what I really, really don't get is how international travel just to play football can be justified in the world we currently inhabit. It is just nonsensical isn't it?

I never said I hate Ireland so that's a lie. However I do follow my country home and away including the 3 World Cups so I will defend when every time they play a negative thread always appears on here, the reason they are playing is because they have not played at home since November and the squad is together for two nation league games this week like the rest of Europe. This young England team is exciting to watch and seem to want to play for the badge more than ever than any of the previous squads in the last 20 years and following on from two semi finals in the last two years this is the time to watch them. Mike has said he over reacted because he was upset they didn't qualify which is fair enough atleast he showed some passion, in regards to Morgan yeah I follow England away in the cricket as well including Australia and Barbados twice in last 3 years and I go to Middlesex to and he is also our captain!
England v Wales tonight on 16:17 - Oct 11 with 1413 views | aston_hoop | Mount starting over Grealish for the Belgium game today, 3 right backs in the line up and Pickford restored. I like Southgate but he could do himself some favours some time

I’m only surprised Rashford didn’t pass the penalty back to the centre backs
| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles

England v Wales tonight on 19:43 - Oct 11 with 1197 views | Toast_R | A hell of a half time team talk wasnt it? Addressed everything from the first half. Nulified Lukaku and slowly took the game to Belgium to get the win. England looked in for a shoeing first half and then done a Coventry.
England v Wales tonight on 19:50 - Oct 11 with 1186 views | makaveli1882 | Brilliant result and second half, should have had more goals but after that first half when we could of easily lost it makes it much better and the No1 team in the world. Have to say this Nations league has been a great success, very competitive games in all 4 leagues.

Where was the soft penalty. Pulling a player back by grabbing their shoulder is a foul. I know it happens all the time it is just the referee saw it this time.
