Newcastle tickets 21:55 - Dec 16 with 35313 views442Dale

Now we are through, with the added bonus of tonight’s game being on tv and the Newcastle game also on BT, really hope we are sensible with the ticket prices ie. not raising them by a fiver a la Sunderland etc. With the Accrington game three days before and Bolton the week after, we don’t want to see fans having to make a choice and missing vital league games.

For a number of years we’ve not had a “big” draw in cup competitions. This will be the third in less than two years, floating fans will start to think twice if the price isn’t right as the novelty is going. If the home ends aren’t full, we’ll have got it wrong.

I've got a few Newcastle supporting mates and as far they're all concerned we've basically got a bye into the next round, 'we only ever play the kids' etc

I reckon Newcastle will take this seriously, they have nothing else to play for, although their record in recent seasons is woeful

When did we become a greedy, money grabbing, horrible club?

The pricing for tickets is all wrong, £22 to stand is just fleecing your own fans.

When will alienating your own fans going to stop?

£27 for main stand...

Speechless

It makes it all the more hard to swallow when you consider you usually get a 3 course meal, and all you’ll get for this is a breakfast!

Can't see paying £25-27 to sit down enticing many floating fans either. You could buy at least 5 pints and watch it in a pub.

I'm pretty sure the tv money for a live 3rd round game is £144,000.
To be getting this AND increasing ticket prices is shocking by the club. With Accrington away and Bolton at home either side of the fixture and the expense of Christmas.
Poor.

Why are people shocked?
It was obviously going to be a category B match, they're a Premier League club.

The club outlined the costs of the Cat B games at the start of the season, as much as I disagree with the pricing, that's what it is.

Average 20 quid x 8000 = £160,000 at a pure guess on ticket sales + BT Sport fee + any other sales nice payday for the club leading into January.

A great initiative to put on free travel to Boston plus the new format at the upcoming fans forum.... then this. Why do they continue to shoot themselves in the foot??!!
It's un-budgeted for therefore free money.

The 1907 hospitality is an extra £30 above the usual category B price, though, and you only get a breakfast instead of a three-course meal. Just seems a shame, that's all. It's clearly not had an impact, as it's sold out before being advertised.

Can't see there being 8,000 there paying that much in and around Christmas.

My post was slightly tongue in cheek but reading it back it doesn't really read that way, sorry.

No I agree, to charge £27 straight after Christmas for a game in which we're already receiving £140k from TV money is ridiculous and will put a lot of people off.

I may be wrong but Isn't there supposed to be an 'early bird' discount for buying before the day of the match? It's nice of them to confirm no booking fees.

Not really when there is families who will struggle to afford them prices just after Christmas. Some our future fans will miss out on this game, which is unfair and unacceptable.

Okay, but why make it personal against individuals at the club?

I'm far from happy with the pricing, but to call out individuals as robbing so-and-sos is a bit harsh.
