Dale coasters 14:14 - Jun 1 with 3763 viewssoulboy

A mate of mine, recently on holiday in Dartmouth bought a set of 4 Dale coasters, each with a different cover from a Dale programme, Torquay 84/85, Cambridge 74/75, Chesterfield 65/66 and Port Vale 6/11 no other date but I think it's season 82/83. I've never seen anything like this before, has anyone else?

I have some of these, which I received as a Christmas present. Available from the Football Museum in Manchester (or at least that's where mine were purchased)

Could a potential money earner if the club thought about it...
Could do it as a collection..

Collect a set with the club badges.
Collect a set with the club kits.
Collect a set with the clubs managers on.
List goes on.

A set of important club matches through out the clubs history..

Start off with a pack of 4 and build upwards.....

Just a thought....

Should do a football sticker album, that would be fantastic.

I will swap you 18 George Donnelly’s and a shiny Michael Simpkin’s for a shiny Alan Reeves!!

Come to think of it the only thing shining about Michael Simpkin’s was his head and lack of ability

Reminds me of a guy I know who invested his retirement money on a printing business. He took some plates he had printed the Manchester United emblem on in to the MUFC club shop and asked if they would be interested in selling them. They said yes, but wanted to sell them at £10 each and keep £9.50 themselves. Earning 50p a plate for the cost of the plate, the labour of printing it and the transport to the shop clearly was not worthwhile, so he told them to get lost, but it just makes you realise that whenever you buy stuff from a club shop or sports shop, they have paid a fraction of what they are selling it for, so you are doing someone out of a fair wage.

My little story about MUFC club shop and how fans are fleeced in general concerns an online purchase of a pendant. This tiny triangle of paper with a bit of string cost £6. They wanted a further £5 for delivery (to Rochdale) My missus hit the roof and phoned them up, pointing out that City’s similar scrap of paper (same price) was free delivery. They reluctantly relented and waived the delivery charge.
Is it any wonder club shops have such a bad reputation.

The worm of time turns not for the cuckoo of circumstance.

I was once asked to pay £5 postage for my credit card sized season ticket to be delivered through the post, after enquiring why it was so much I was informed that it would be sent first class and I would have to sign for it and that costs more,it came about 10 days later with a first class stamp on an ordinary envelope and just posted through the letterbox with the other mail, they must have made thousands out of that

Poll: Do you now think that Notts have suffered enough since Munto?

Are you trying to say NCFC might not be above board when it comes to financial morality?
SURELY NOT????

Yes, saw the coaster set on Chapel Market nr. Angel tube station, probably around 2014.

My neice found a Rochdale mug on the market in Ludlow of all places.
It's got a reproduction of the programme front for the game versus Chesterfield on one side and the Torquay match in September 1984 on the other.
I've used it for years for my brews at work.
Why Ludlow is anyone's guess but apparently the stallholder had a box full of them.
