Incredible that it has actually come to this. For those without Twitter: “The mental pressure has affected some people to the extent that they feel they are unable to perform their jobs sufficiently. “These are unprecedented circumstances and are affecting every aspect of our lives, placing great strain on ourselves and our families. “During this time we have remained patient in hope of some explanation but information from the club has been extremely limited and very confusing. What we have been told changes constantly. “With deep regret we have decided not to fulfil our remaining fixtures unless we are paid. “We understand that this will disappoint our fans and for this we sincerely apologise. “We realise this may be seen as drastic action but we feel we have no other options left. “This decision has not been taken lightly and is not a reaction to this one particular incident. “We have suffered numerous issues this season, and recent seasons. Brought on by the mismanagement of this club. “We have been operating in a near untenable environment for some time and it is the accumulation of these issues that have resulted in our decision.” [Post edited 26 Apr 2019 15:36]

Bolton Players Refusing To Play Remaining Fixtures on 11:33 - May 8 by SuddenLad | Confirmed just now on TalkSport. Will start next season with a MINIMUM 12 point deduction. Further sanctions may follow..... Edit....... intervention by the Judge at the court hearing this morning has postponed the matter until May 22nd. HMRC are owed in excess of £1 million and the next stage may now be liquidation, meaning the end of BWFC..........a confusing situation to say the least..... [Post edited 8 May 2019 11:47]

One they'll probably wriggle out of, go into administration, pay next to none of their creditors and be able to continue as is. Clubs in the FL need to start getting punishments that will make an example of them to put other clubs off doing what they're doing. Is a 12 point deduction really going to matter? The worst that will happen is they go into League Two, with crowds at 15k plus and their debt gone, they'd probably climb back up the leagues.

If it happens, it will be a MINIMUM 12 point deduction, with the likelihood of further sanctions. Ken Anderson announced that he had placed the club into administration this morning, following the failure to arrange a deal with Bassini. A later report now claims that matters had been deferred until May 22nd, with the likelihood of liquidation if the club are wound up. I agree that clubs should be severely punished by the EFL, but they are generally weak when it comes to meting out punishments.

It's been adjourned so that an administrator can be appointed so I think it's pretty much inevitable now. I can't see anyone taking over a club that has to be put into administration before 22 May or Bolton entertaining them to do so. If no take over or administrator is appointed before then, the only options for the court would either to adjourn again or wind them up.

A slap in the face for the other clubs in league 1. A slap in the face actually to all football clubs ( outside the Prem ) regardless of tier.

KA has lodged a notice to appoint an Administrator and it will likely that Bolton will enter Administration shortly. The WUO is adjourned until the 22 May to allow this to happen as it is a separate Insolvency process so needs to be adjourned to allow the Admin to proceed.

This explains the situation well
I think any new offer will be to buy the club out of Administration and that the New Co will propose a CVA to pays its football creditors. The Liabilities will then fall with the Old Co.

It was pointed out this morning that had Bolton entered administration last time they were in League 1, they'd still have made the Play Offs that season in a year where their transfer embargo saw them sign more players than any other team in the division.

They've still the punishment for not fulfilling the brentford game so hopefully that'll be another significant points deduction
Bolton Players Refusing To Play Remaining Fixtures on 11:41 - May 9 with 4038 views | SuddenLad | My guess would be (assuming they start the season) that there will be at least a 20 point deduction. Anything less is a licence to cheat.

How did you come up with 20 points?

There will be a MINIMUM 12 point deduction for going into administration and the EFL have already said there will be further sanctions in respect of this seasons' shenanigans. Failure to fulfil the Brentford fixture will incur a further penalty when the committee decides what punishment to mete out. Forfeiting the game and points was utterly meaningless to a club who were by that stage, already relegated. A financial penalty is futile when they are about to go into administration, so the more probable option will be further points. As I see it, they deserve a 20 point deduction and if the EFL are serious about getting their message across, about financial conduct, they need to impose a sentence that is a deterrent and that looks like a punishment.

Bolton Players Refusing To Play Remaining Fixtures on 17:35 - May 9 with 3668 views | DaleFan7 | If they did get -20 points then they'd have to get 70 points to stay up (going off previous seasons). That would put them just outside the playoffs in an ordinary season. I suppose it depends on who they can keep and sign too. With debts wiped and income from a decent fan base they'd probably stay up.

Luton were deducted 10 points for irregular matters involving player transfers and 20 points for breaking the rules on exiting administration. Silver lining here, they went down to the non league and won the football league trophy. Bolton will receive the 12 point deduction plus the points they decide to deduct for failing to fulfil their fixtures. Bassini is not the answer unless the question is who can bankrupt your club for you. No doubt Bolton fans will cite they have that covered under KA thank you very much. He took Watford to the brink and was requesting an £8m loan from the Council for ground improvements. Council quite rightly told him to do one. Unlike Watford, though, Bolton will not have the Pozzo family to dig them out of the hole they are in.
