Conceded four again and compounded our record as having the worst defence in the country. Hill will try to blame the ref for this one, I reckon, but there is no excuse at all for the state we’re in other than it being down to those behind the walls of our club.

According to KH on 'Matey Radio', the referee today has never had a good game in any match for us so it was all his fault!

good for stability? It was completely unneccessary at the time.... when was the last time any other club showed interest in him, his ego and his attitude has lead to him being virtually unemployable as a manager...yet we lock him in for 5 years...and apparently without any get out clauses such as coceding 70 goals before end of february.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Who could predict that this it what would happen? At the time it was good for stability. Financially we knew what our manager would cost in wages for the next 5 seasons. The plan for the future involving bringing through the youth we develop had a figurehead with a clear plan of how the various teams should play and if we had another good season which attracted interest from other clubs they would have to stump up a tidy sum in compensation to secure Hill's services.
However 5 years was probably 2 years too much even if last season we were safe by this time pushing for promotion/playoffs KH's public persona aside the cost would probably have put clubs off.

Not hindsight ...I said it at the time on this board.

You always support Hill. I’m not doubting you are a fan , but even you must know he should go, I know he won’t resign , but he should

Why does it bother you that Hill has my support? I’m not blindly supporting him and saying everyone else should as well. I’m giving my opinion which amazingly is what the idea of a fans forum is..

Results have been terrible for the past 18 months and things seriously need to improve, but the way I see it, We’re tethered to Hill due to his lucrative and lengthy deal that we cant afford to terminate.

The damage this season is done and we’re going to go down, if Results dont improve next year in the first quarter of the season then it may be time to look elsewhere, but i’d rather let Hill run it’s course, as Rochdale is a niche job in the football league and one which most managers may struggle with, i’d rather give the bloke who knows how to produce results at this club every chance and to be honest i’m fairly sure that’s going to happen anyway..

Leader of the little gang of immature cretins.

No just common sense. Making a five year commitment to someone who never makes the betting for other positions...didn’t add up. I’d be interested to know what other clubs at our level have offered 5 year contracts to managers. Maybe Dario grade at Crewe and we know know what that involved.

Don't worry, we have our free hit coming up next week........!

WTF is that all about....is Sunderland (H) one as well.?

No no , Wimbledon as a free hit, it wasnt a must win game , so Luton and Sunderland will be must win games in KJH logic, or has he given up on must win games .
All bloody games are must win Keith !

Having just seen the highlights I’m not really sure why he was sent off. As you say, he was quite a way away from goal, and we had covering defenders.

Another mistake from Delaney, too. I’m just going to come out and say what I’ve been thinking all season, Delaney is just as bad, if not worse than, McNulty.

Never a red in a million years by the letter of the law. I personally think the ref was swayed by how deliberate it was and the sheer audacity of EEL to even try it. KH believes it was the right decision but didn't even show a flicker of emotion when it happened - looks like he's just given up to me tbh.

Few takeaways:

Done looked good up front and has to play there at Luton.

Delaney is woeful and nowhere near good enough.

Bunney got turned and shafted more times than George Michael in his video for "Outside". Garbage.

McLaughin looked promising and a threat going forward. Think he could do well for us.

Hendo was as quiet as I've seen him all season.

Lonergan is an exceptionally good GK and we are lucky to have him. He's quite clearly fed up at the moment though.

MJW was in the stands with Kitman Jack and looked suicidal.

Luton could be any score

By some fluke our next 2 home games after the predicted Luton mauling are Shrewsbury and Oxford - the 2 teams currently just outside the relegation zone. If its not all over already - it will be without 2 home wins.

Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

And please don't mention this season at Oxford....
That abject display could come back to haunt us big style.
