Would the Americans sell up if fans had a decent offer to make?

I'm a total dreamer.

But 100,000 true football people, from around the world, stumping up £1000 each gives them the £100,000,000 they paid.

That’s Jenkins master plan isn’t it? Buy back for 10 million in league 2 and start again. Wonder what roberto is up to?😂

far less than £10m and offer pennies in the £ for all shares and so basically dissolving any hold the Trust has

Michael and Cath Douglas are big fans of the our Club.
Surely they could afford to buy it out?

Quick query Phil. Just thinking out loud so to speak.

If the Trust take legal action against Sellers and/or buyers and win on the basis of unfair prejudice. Assuming the resolution decided by the courts would be a forced purchase of the trusts shares at the previous market value (circa £20m for arguements sake). What guarantees/protections would be given that this debt would not be paid using club funds, or offset by a fire sale the like of which we have just seen?

My guess would be that there is no foolproof way to prevent this, or enforce restrictions on from where thier debt is recouped. After all well they still own the club (79.9% voting rights!)

That's not a question that I could answer - I believe that you cant use club funds to buy the shares however it is best placed for one of the experts to answer

I was actually debating whether to post it for risk of looking silly.

But, we want our club back.

And the only way to do it is buy it.

So do we go back to the Petty Era and organise a fans buyout ?

I would love to see such a thing get off the ground.

I know it's a crazy silly comparison, but there is a pub, near me, called the Tafarn Sinc.

It was bought recently through a community buy out - 300k. And this in a sparsely populated part of Wales with not much wealth lying around. People thought it was impossible, but it happened.

What is stopping us actually trying this?

Nothing.
Now what's Mel Nurse doing nowadays ?
Kev Johns would be a great figurehead except he's so much in with the club now I can't see him being up for it.

I'm an outside from Pembrokeshire.

I know no-one, but I'm not an idiot and would happily help out.

I'm more local and would be willing to help as well, but every revolution needs a leader.

I doubt they could use club funds directly, but I’m pretty sure there’s nothing to stop them recouping any losses indirectly from the club.

The first stage of a fans buyout should be to significantly reduce the value of the club by withholding our support in all forms. Also we should (within the law) cause the Americans owners as much bad publicity as possible, and hope to get them to the point where they would become concerned and prefer not to be here. After all they've got other more profitable interests and may be better focusing on them.

The value of the club is what it can be sold for, and as well as the fans action, If we also have two poor or mediocre seasons, I think the value of the club (when parachute money finishes) would decrease dramatically, and much more dramatically if we got relegated from the Championship. At some point in the not too distant future, I think it likely that the only buyers interested and willing to pay more than £10 million could be the fans.

Quick point of order.

The hedge fund paid around £75m for a 68% shareholding in SCFC (along with 79.9% of the voting rights).

The entire club was valued at around £110m. (For comparison Arsenal FC was valued at £1.8 Billion last week!)

The club is not worth £110m now (for a start we just sold £47m in assets/players). Current value of the club is probably around £30m to £40m, and the yanks shares therefore £20m - £30m.

No one in there right mind would pay anywhere near £100m for the club at this time!

A championship club with nearly all the valuable laying assets sold. Exactly!
