Alli is a bloody disgrace!!! 18:10 - Feb 18 with 23056 views | Thacks_Rabbits | Diving cheating horrible piece of work. So proud of our players and the way they conduct themselves. Cheating to try and beat Rochdale. Rose also behaves like a tool. Used to like Spurs but no longer!!!

Alli is a bloody disgrace!!! on 05:11 - Feb 19 with 2748 views | AlexF | Definite dive from a scumbag plaer. Should have been a yellow. I would debate Aldiweirdo’s decision to grab hold of the ball too. He mght have fallen on it in the first place, but he made absolutely no effort to get his arms off the ball.

Alli is a bloody disgrace!!! on 22:48 - Feb 18 by Thacks_Rabbits | He dived. He cheated. Harrison’s done nothing. Sorry to be blunt but anyone who says it is a penalty has never played football at a decent level. I don’t mean to offend or annoy but alli cheated a pen and knew he was doing it. He was the same at mk and tbh he has just got better at cheating. |
I don't think we have heard the last of this I think Dele Alli might be in trouble.
| This is not the time for bickering.

Much gnashing of teeth & wailing on this thread for what, even according to half the Rochdale fans (who thankfully are not sucked in by the media/TalkSport anti-Alli agenda) was a nailed on pen. It is the media outlet's job to create controversy where there is none to make people click their website, turn on the radio or switch on the TV. That'll be the same media that will be praying Tottenham players Kane, Alli, Trippier, Rose, Winks & Dier can help England win something for the first time in 52 years. If you had won you would have got to play away at Swansea (probably) where they achieved a crowd of 5500 for their last cup game (1500 were away fans) as it is you get a trip to Wembley & another bumper pay day. Alls well that ends well.

We've 'WON' plenty of penalties in the past - every team has. Joe Rafferty, Davies and Hendo have all done in recent seasons.

Alli is a bloody disgrace!!! on 10:14 - Feb 19 with 2475 views | 1907 | I don’t see how anyone can say “nailed on pen”. You can tell from the debate and confusion on here that people don’t agree so it clearly wasn’t nailed on. Personally I think he’s absolute made the most of it and played for it. He’s a clever player and he deliberately tries to win decisions as part of his game. He’s run into a McGahey as opposed to McGahey fouling him in my opinion. You see them given unfortunately, which is now a part of the modern game. 20 years ago that’s never a pen, however I appreciate that the games moves on. Ultimately we need to be more careful in our own box and not allow players into positions where they can give the ref an opportunity to make a decision. Amazing day yesterday! Everyone one of those lads is a hero today. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Alli is a bloody disgrace!!! on 11:11 - Feb 19 with 2337 views | Creepy | I think the penalty decision was made worse because of the timing of it and the fact we all thought it was doing us out of a well deserved replay. It was one were you've seen then given and seen them waived away. Added to that, we'd had two reasonable penalty shouts that again on another day could have been given so I felt at the time we'd lost out on all three of the potential penalty decisions. Anyway, it all added up to a fantastic day. Everyone at work today telling me its the best match they've seen on TV for ages.

Alli is a bloody disgrace!!! on 21:54 - Feb 18 by rochdaleriddler | It was a pen |
As perfectly discussed on the radio this morning,if we're giving out penalties simply for "contact" they're should be one awarded nearly every corner then, when all the players are getting each other in headlocks etc and grabbing shirts yet it gets waved play on? I'm not sure Hilly would have been quite so noble either with his assessment of the pen had Davies not struck the equaliser... It was a very cheap pen that he absolutely made a meal of, if I was a steward id be searching for the hidden sniper that must have been in one of the stands too..
Alli is a bloody disgrace!!! on 11:52 - Feb 19 with 2249 views | RooleyMoorBlue | It makes me laugh hearing people talk of these Spurs players being the backbone of the England team and we should support them as they will be behind England having any chance of winning the World Cup. These players may do ok against some of the better teams in the finals, but when they come up against less illustrious opponents, it is glaringly obvious they will be found wanting, a la Iceland, because they have no guts and when the going gets tough they will disappear. If plan A, feigning injury or foul doesn`t work, there is no plan B. I`d back Iceland over England any day, simply down to bottle, balls and workrate.
Alli is a bloody disgrace!!! on 11:55 - Feb 19 with 2236 views | judd | I sincerely hope we have a league one type ref for the replay. I could not believe how easily Spurs players went to ground at the slightest of touches, even when cuddling the fookin ball in the penalty area. Alli "earned" the penalty.

Agree with every word of that. Ok I had my blue tinted specs on, but I felt that the ref, whilst keeping the game going, certainly seemed to err on the side of mollycoddling. I would also say the visitors benefitted from that more than we did. I must say though, that all the indignation about the pen is, in my view, a bit pointless. It's not like Hendo hasn't done stuff like this. I worship the ground he walks on for what he's done for Dale, but earning pens is sadly part and parcel of the game these days. As is WWE at corners.

Alli is a bloody disgrace!!! on 12:25 - Feb 19 with 2155 views | soulboy | Contact yes, theatrical dive yes, penalty no. McGahey even adjusts his body after the contact to try and avoid further contact. As pointed out earlier, the ref couldnt wait to give it, Ali hadnt even finished his roll and the ref had blown. Didnt surprise me though, virtually every time we won the ball and there was physical contact he gave Spurs a free kick.

McGahey adjusted his body like any defender would do, to try to minimise the impact of the foul he knew he'd just committed

Alli is a bloody disgrace!!! on 13:39 - Feb 19 with 2009 views | JimmyRustler | I think the fact that we had appeals turned down which were far more clear cut definitely added to the frustration. It also doesn't help that it was Alli - the guy is a known diver and so unless he gets blatantly clattered, he's gonna be under the microscope everytime he goes down. In real time, it really did look like a stonewall penalty and of course, the ref only gets to see it once but at the same time, he couldn't wait to give it (just as he gave most of the 50/50's their way). It's one of those situations where McGahey has left a leg out and Alli has seen an opportunity and initiated the contact himself. The fact that a good amount of people agree with the decision is indicative of how football has changed over the years (probably for the worse in this regard). Don't get me wrong, I'm not the biggest fan of those, '20 years ago that would have never been a penalty comments' but it's so soft. If the shoe was on the other foot, I wouldn't feel aggrieved if we didn't get a penalty for that in the game against MK Dons on Wed.

That’s bang on the way I saw it. McGahey’s leg was there to be hit, but the contact made was in no way conducive to Alli’s ‘fall’. I’m loathe to criticise referees, especially when I’m not sat level with play, but it did feel a lot of 50/50 decisions went Spurs’ way.

And the way he got his heels up so high after contact helped the ref and didn't help his reputation.

What reputation? The media have decided he is 'pubic enemy number one' and therefore have got it in for the lad no matter what he does. If he had stayed on his feet he would have got no credit for it whatsoever so he might as well go over. In fact he is no better or worse than any other Premier League player but is more high profile & therefore better for the clicks which generate advertising revenue.

If he stayed on his feet, he may have created or scored a goal. Let’s not lose sight of the fact his ‘fall’ came at the end of a very well-worked move.

The post was talking about his reputation. It would not have helped his reputation one iota if he had staed on his feet as it does not fit the media agenda that he is a 'bad boy'. He was getting loads of grief after the Liverpool game but in their very next match Firmino did a dive as bad if nor worse than Alli's supposed crime & it hardly warranted a line anywhere, Agenda,
