Gary monk 08:09 - Dec 27 with 3774 views | premierjack | He was sacked from Middlesbrough because Mr Gibson found out he was in swansea talking to mr Jenkins a day earlier.
Gary monk on 08:18 - Dec 27 with 3721 views | jack247 | That would be utter stupidity on Gibson’s part and he’s not a stupid man. Why pay someone off when you can get compensation for them?

That's the point - he terminated his contact so no pay off, if the story was true of course. I don't believe it given that Gonzo and Monks weren't exactly best mates. They made Darran and Perch seem like birds of a feather by all accounts 😂

I’m lost now. I thought he was sacked?
Gary monk on 08:25 - Dec 27 with 3662 views | premierjack | Gibson wasn’t happy, after he has spent a fortune on his squad he believes he should and will get back in the prem straight away. He was willing to pay Gary off, get Pulis straight in and lose a couple of million. He thought that was better than leaving it go on for weeks and weeks, unsettling his own squad and may lose the chance of Pulis.

Sorry but what is the difference between sacking somebody and terminating their contract ? I'm sure it means the same thing ?

That seems much more plausible

They wanted a ‘way in’ to the city to start buying hotels etc...that is where they believe they will make their money."

Gary monk on 08:50 - Dec 27 with 3496 views | majorraglan | I think the chance of securing Pulis services was the reason Monk was released. Tony Pulis has a good track record and will probably take Boro back up and keep them up.

(No subject) (n/t) on 09:02 - Dec 27 with 3406 views | E20Jack | A year ago tomorrow. Premierjack gave us another managerial scoop:- "After some talks, The boards first choice is .... Klinsmann!" [Post edited 27 Dec 2017 9:11]

Oh to have a forward thinking chairman( & I don’t mean by appointing Pulis ) We sacked our manager & had no one in place to replace him even though the writings been on the wall for at least a month. #backtojack

It does but if the (unlikely) story is true, then if Monks broke his contract he'd be sacked with no compo

Okay so it's terminated due to breach of contract, not by the usual "by mutual consent" nonsense

If I suspend disbelief for a moment and buy the story I think even Monk would walk away from the chance to manage this club again after watching last night’s game. Herding cats would be easier than managing this squad. Of course, the story is utter b******s.
