So at least you're embarrassed by it now, in an half-hearted kind of way People can get cold feet over new jobs (just ask Eden's predecessor) but this is far from "simples" [Post edited 27 Aug 2017 5:51]

I'm not embarrassed, I decided it wasn't fair to post things without the consent of those involved. I don't see how the post was disgraceful, I note another poster alleged the club had made life difficult for Eden . You weren't outraged by that. My toys remain in my pram.

Fair enough, though the use of "simples" attaches a degree of "I know what happened" in a way that needed challenging, something to bear in mind for the future All other comments have been more guarded

No Tannoy today? on 19:50 - Aug 26 by swiggy | It is incorrect and I think if Eden wishes to make public the true story then that's up to him, however the club appear to be not covering themselves in glory at the moment, announcer saga, bar access, new safety officer.......... all the good work with season tickets undone with a few thoughtless actions. Oh and we can't buy a win, something is wrong at the club. "Are you ready?" No we're bloody not. |
Sounds like you lot have enough of your own problems to worry about rather than our finances

Twitter is a really dangerous forum if you're a club employee or an employee of any organisation for that matter. Without knowing the person or the issue that led to this additional dispute, I can see that the person went with a group of friends to Headingley test match this week dressed in fancy dress tribute to an American president and is involved in behaviours where some of the language is a bit choice. Not an issue in itself for me but when the person has the club's initials in their Twitter handle and is known to be new in the job it's at best unwise and it will only draw a negative attention where it doesn't need to. Now, emotions over choice of tannoy man for this season have run high, but I can't imagine Keith HIll, a player (say Ian Henderson) or non player (say Leighanne Coyle), for example, allowing those types of online posts to impact their professional presence or performance or allow their employer to use that as ammunition. And I really don't care who has the job for the Blackburn game as long as its not preceeded by the safety "bongs" of yesterday!

No Tannoy today? on 20:03 - Aug 27 with 2910 views | 49thseason | Personally i didnt miss the music at all, the opportunity to chat and discuss the first half without having to shout was a pleasant change. The bing bongs were highly annoying buy I guess that using the emergency announcement system was the only way to let people know the teams, substitutes etc. I imagjne that for the next match a new system for non-emergency announcements will have been installed, whether it comes with music and a new ( or old ) announcer or not will be an interesting diversion from guessing who has got the "bug" this week and what equitable system will be put in place to allow people to drink at half time. So in short... , No music, no half time beer, no goals, no football to speak of, Hilly miffed about god knows what, Directors trying to sort out problems, people in the wrong seats, the usual smattering of idiot bury fans, more coppers than an EDL march,..... and someone thought it would be a good place to get married! Good job it didnt rain really.

I can't ever recall a Krankie performance with either of them wearing a pro-Donald Trump campaign badge or hat - but then again, Jeanette Tough is now in her 70's and I'm not familiar with their current act. Anything is possible. The fact that it is out there and that people like me can easily find it damages the reputation and profile of incumbent in his public role which he is new to and when it didn't need to. It gives any detractors a point to make against him and those at the club who appointed him a consideration to make. [Post edited 27 Aug 2017 21:15]

It's not uncommon for many employment contracts these days to contain details about acceptable social media use. Mine certainly does. Needless to say in this regard that there will be a lot left unsaid and some things perhaps not presented with the full facts or considerations from both sides. It's evident in the way that Eden left and the timing of his departure that he feels things are irreparable. Best now to let things take their course. The club will inevitably seek a replacement and Eden can consider if he wishes to take his grievances further. What we don't need is a schism in the support of the club when the team and manager need it most.
No Tannoy today? on 04:11 - Aug 28 with 2389 views | CanaDale | I really feel for Eden if he has been ousted out, just to bring in Sweetmore (if it happens) talk about an old boys network. This season seems to be one thing after another, and we aren't even in September! things can only get better I guess.

One of the board of directors was on the same stag do! If it was an issue do you not think he would have said something? What a load of absolute nonsense. The language issue didnt seem to bother the club with the previous tannoy announcer and nor should it. People should be able to use their social media accounts freely. Swearing? Jesus H Christ, stop the world I'm getting off! Tell you what, we'll tell anyone who wants to become a tannoy man or employee of the club to get rid of all social media accounts, bin their phones, put them in witness protection and keep them on house arrest. Its very apparent to me that the club didn't want Dave Sweetmore to leave, neither did I, but he did, then they appointed Eden fairly and squarely. Brilliant news for the lad, good opportunity etc. Then it went wrong for Dave and he came back to the area and the club wanted him back and tried to undermine Eden and make it happen. An outcry occurred and rightly so and it didn't happen and now all of a sudden, Eden is having to deal with pathetically petty issues like being told off for swearing despite Dave having sworn on numerous occasions without reprimand. This is among other things. Its an absolute farce. One rule for one, one for another. For a SUPPORTER to have felt it necessary to pack up his stuff and leave the job he was thrilled to take at the time he did is a very sorry state of affairs. I feel unbelievably sorry for Eden and utterly ashamed at our football club off the field at the moment.
