Forget all the bickering about the pitch, Hornets, lack of communication etc. It is with deep sorrow that I have to announce the demise of... bury's geet big scoreboard. It appears that the scoreboard (which was bought second hand from Leicester City in 1991) is so broken and generally knackered that the club has decided to retire it from service. Also, it's becoming uneconomical to replace the bulbs...each one takes at least two sponsored walks to Accy to buy according to a Mr Eaves, who helps purchase things for bury from time to time. No doubt Rob (avec black armband and broken pint-pot) will be along shortly to pay his own tribute to the famous old scoreboard, which will soon take its place alongside the famous old boys stand and the garden shed executive facilities which now lie gathering dust somewhere under the famous old wooden stand. A moments silence please. "This famous old shytehole". John Motson: 2011. | |
