So will it be the 3rd or 4th bailout?

It's only time before the whole Ponzi scheme falls apart. With Greece taking out 10s of billions of euros every couple of years with no real intention of paying it back it's only going to take another country to go tits up and it's all over.

Well the Greeks rejected the terms of the last bailout in a referendum but the EU ignored it and trampled all over them as they usually do.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

And insisted on bailing them out, since all the cash they had already spunked on them would be lost
they are now throwing bad money after good to save face

If your Greek it's very nice of the EU but who's paying for it ? It's not going to be the Greeks that's for sure.

They do pay for it by having extreme austerity measures and higher taxes enforced upon them. The 55% of young people who can't find any work and are left feeling worthless are also paying for it Id imagine.

So if they are paying the money back why are they going to be on the 3rd or 4th bailout soon?

We all know they will never pay it back.

Of course they won't, for many reasons but mainly because they have no control over their own currency. The same thing is happening all over Southern Europe. But the EUs solution is to plough on regardless because the suffering of millions is far more preferable to them than to admit their project isn't working.

I hope so for their own sakes. I love Greece and the Greek people, they deserve better than this.

With Trump having a veto on any IMF deal he's in the perfect posistion to teach the EU (Germany) a real lesson, and he will and in turn let Greece return to a self run country and not ruled from Berlin/Brussels which it is now.

Absolutely.

The Germans inflicting their wrath on the Greek government for giving the Greek pensioners a small Christmas bonus was sick.

Doesn't Greece have the most generous pensions in Europe?

If they don't like the conditions they can firk off out of the Euro and EU.

They can then return to being the economic powerhouse they once were.

Well... you say that...

The reality is Greek tax collection levels were at a pathetically low level for god knows how long. It's hard to have a great deal of sympathy when it appears they wanted the pensions, the benefits whilst not wanting to pay taxes to support it.

Systemic problems of successive governments there sure but it's also a problem that occurs when Greece appears to have had, for the most part, a cash in hand economy.

When one nation / entity wants to leave, you can reasonably claim it's down to that nation / entity wants to leave.

If others want to leave... then the EU needs to start looking at itself to learn the reasons why.

They're like the fückwit relative/ friend living way beyond their means who keep on slagging you off yet keep coming back to tap you for more money.

They say this time it'll be different as they drive off in their brand new leased BMW.

No-brainer.

USA, comprised of states with common language and economic system ( with variations in state taxes )

EU, comprised of disparate languages and a desperate attempt to create common currency despite the nations economics being vastly different.

The problem is the US dollar is propped up by oil,or petro dollars....all oil transactions have to be done in dollars.

It is very vulnerable at the moment as we ve seen recently with countries like Iran threatening to ditch it. If a few more countries did the same it would collapse overnight.

The oil price collapsed from over 110$ a barrel to last year under 30$.USA still out performed the EU.Its back up to 55$ a barrel now.

The price of oil is immaterial.

It's the fact that all oil transactions have to be carried out in petroleum dollars is what currently backs up the currency.

That's why the US is at the mercy of the Saudis and OPEC.

You've gone off on a tangent,we could all think up scenarios for the fall in any region of the world.

EU average growth last 5 years 1.8% USA 2.2%.

We all know the EU is a house of cards and it's only time it comes tumbling down, maybe not this year or next year but it will come down.

Any Ponzi scheme or fiat currency is a house of cards...and history has proven all eventually collapse.

I don't think I've gone off the tangent...my question was which currency will collapse first.

Imho it's the dollar....that of course is if the EU and the Euro does not implode first.

So the dollar will collapse first unless the euro collapses first.

That clears things up ;)
