Off to Everton? ;) Other managers with that kind of turnaround: Peter Reid - genuinely good at Sunderland with Quinn and Phillips up front - didn't they come 4th in the Prem or something? Utter dogsh!t soon after though. Paul Sturrock?

George Burley? Great at Ipswich and Derby, dross in nearly every job since and hasn't managed in four years.

Been saying that about Hanley for about a year on here Danny , would be a good partnership him and Hall

Definitely. Their styles should work well together (on paper anyway). Still young for a player in that position, but captains them already.

That's an alcohol thing sadly. Story about his time at Derby from the players all waiting in this hotel suite for him to come and give the pre-match briefing before an away game at Brighton in the morning, turned up late, tried to lean on the easel and fell in a dramatic mess on the floor with his flip chart on top of him.

Both Blackburn's centre backs are good, and fit the 'kick it head it' Clint Hill style we miss.

They've had some very decent players pass through the club, even since the fiasco of relegation. Cairney who joined Fulham always really impressed me and Josh King has done well this year in the Premiership. (Seem to remember Les was after him before he went to Bournemouth?) They should still have done better this season though, and a lot of that has to be down to Lambert. He's always got 0-0 written all over him.
Paul Lambert on 19:21 - Apr 28 with 3361 views | exiled_dictator | his departure will leave blackburn rovers without a manager, chairman, chief executive or managing director. plus all his backroom staff will depart too. absolutely crazy to think you can run a football club like that. but i understand that as part of his severance package, lambert will have a life times supply of frozen chicken. allegedly.

I rate Duffy as the better of the two. That almost certainly means Hanley will turn out better. Either of them would be massive in our defence.
Paul Lambert on 11:14 - Apr 29 with 2867 views | TacticalR | Lambert has been a bit of a nightmare opponent for us - only Harry has managed to beat him (once). I expected him to do well after lifting Norwich through the divisions, but he looked completely broken at the end at Villa. I heard him on 5 Live a while ago (it might have been when he was between jobs) and he's a very poor pundit - unoriginal, difficult to understand, and went on ad nauseam about his Borussia Dortmund experience.

First time I've heard that. The club that went after him last summer was Burnley - had a couple of bids knocked back, but you imagine the rivalry between them and Blackburn might have been part of that. The only centre back I remember knocking us back recently was Michael Dawson. The dick.

Move along, nothing unusual to see there. Just another foreign-owned, manager-rotating club in the Championship.
