Grant Holt 14:34 - Apr 26 with 8931 viewssandy_dale

Just tweeted saying he is doing his coaching badge in the summer - surely a player coach role at Dale. That would be brilliant.

Agree would be great but we have 2 coaches in beachy and BBM, add in collis, there are no vacancies as far as I am aware and no one justifies sacking so cant see that happening but who knows

We need to sell a few more Season Tickets to create a new position at the Club just for Holty.

The e-shot sent out yesterday suggests there's just "a few remaining tickets" for the Evening with Grant Holt on Thursday. Tickets priced at £40 & £65.

It'll be a great evening no doubt, and a good income-generator by the club but I wonder if the uptake of these sort of events leads the club to consider protestations about ST prices to be just hot air?

Someone should be asking Holty what his plans are for next season!

Grant Holt got asked a direct question what he is doing next season, his answer was , he hasn't thought about it.
He also didn't answer what his favourite drink in Coco's was, you really couldn't make this shit up.
Good night though, good speaker is Holty, went on a it though, did about an hour and half.

Cheers TDB

Expect he'll have been told what he can and can't answer, the main thing is having a good evening and making a bit of dosh.

on the subject of Grant Holt...obviously Holt played at Prem level...have Dale ever had anyone else who has played at Prem level or the old Division one then played for the Dale?

I do believe Tony Whelan would fill that criteria currently working with United's academy.

Dale have had numerous players that have played at a higher league level but how many have actually come directly to the Dale with no clubs in between as a senior player. Tony Whelan played for City and came straight to the Dale.

Steve Kinsey's previous English club before joining Dale was Manchester City.

Peter Hampton played a lot of top-flight football with Leeds and Stoke and was an unused sub in the European Cup final of 1975 which Leeds fans think they won.

in the fifties Cyril Lello, Everton. In those days Express or Mail used to print expected teams in the first division on Saturday mornings and Lello was in their team although he ha signed for Dale.

Will Atkinson was on loan from Hull in the Premier League in our Promotion season. He returned there and scored in the Premier League - then he came back to us the following season.
