tomorrow can't come quick enough 14:17 - Oct 16 with 2263472 viewsbatman

Not for us, but for Bury.
i was credit checking a potential customer and decided to nosey onto
BFC's file and was (or maybe not) supprised to see a new CCJ for circa £22k lodged
only Wednesday this week.
looks like they are in need of a bumper crowd tomorrow to settle some bills

That was my immediate reaction too.

Accumulated losses stand at £8.4m, but to Thomas it's fine as the next set of accounts are expected to show losses of just £2.5m

You can't make this up!

So their accumulated losses next May will stand at £10.9m, and the following May should they get there will be up to at least £13m.

If I was them I'd be forming a fund raising group now (today) to raise money to buy the club when it inevitably goes tits up, or to form an AFCbury.

-£10.9m. Wow wow wow.

All borrowed using giggle as collateral.

But, hey, enjoy the ride!

What fooking ride?

The mismanagement is summed up by their strikers, and shows the role Flicker has played in this.

Sign Clarke and Pope on big wages, despite the fact neither can play in the same team as the other.

Get rid of Clarke with a view to reducing the wage bill, and transfer list Pope.

Sign Vaughan when side not scoring enough goals. Sign Miller when Pope gets injured.

Astronomical as they were for a club of Bury's size, I'm not having it that Clarke was earning more than Vaughan and Miller combined so the wage bill is bigger than it was before.

What's happened to the 7.5 million credit facility they promised in the accounts? It beggars belief they keep ignoring the tax bill - that's the 1st thing that you would pay if you were trying not to attract bad publicity.

I doubt the £7.5m was ever a real facility, it seems like more of a guarantee provided by another SD company, which was wound up after the accounts were signed off by the auditor. I'd imagine (my own conjecture, allegedly etc etc) that providing the guarantee in the first place was something the auditor demanded in order to sign off the accounts (even with going concern language) - will the auditor sign off next year after the latest stunt? Not if they have two brain cells to rub together.

Smoke and mirrors, and paper debt. Not a real penny in sight and they've managed to get years out of this charade. It's Wycombe who I feel sorry for - still in L2 after being nudged out of that third spot in 2015.

Who'd trade 3 points v bury with them going bust?

Personally I'd rather have the points, but I think I'm in a minority.

Personally hope they do. Stockport, so they exist but, way below us, playing on a ground that more suits them, like the equivalent of Rochdale Towns old ground.

Then if they move back up the leagues, in a Rochdale type way, I will respect them, unlike now when I have no respect at all for them.

Might be wrong on this, but they've made a big deal about this big money transfer of this 15 year old to Liverpool and suggesting they've received a big fee. Is it not the case for all players under 17 these days that all fees are fixed under the EPPP rules?

There is still the assumption that Day or Day's companies have made a substantial investment in Bury, prior to these loans. Conn's article does mention that Bury have benefited from Day's investment but then goes on to say that this investment has come via loans (non Day related loans) secured against the club. It appears from the current security structure that no money is owed to a Day related company. Other than the quid to buy the club in the first place I'm still to be convinced that he, or his shell companies, have put in another dime.
This squillion pound credit facility is shrouded in mystery and only appears when assurances are sought. It certainly doesn't appear to be being used for anything tangible - CK Properties. Charles Street Investments and Moneything etc are called upon for that.

Could be wrong though but it looks odd to say the least.

Well we got £100 grand for Ronan at 16 (and I think Wolves paid more than they had to according to the rules) - it'll be something similar. Until players are 17 and under contract that's how it is.

What baffles me about the whole saga is how they will only make a loss of 2.5 million, massive as this is. If they owe 8.9 million, even if we are generous and say it's at 5% a month that's 4.5 million plus if compounded. Wages, poor crowds, lack of other income and other costs will mean they will have made a loss even before the loans. Ok, so they sold a couple of players but I cannot see that being for more than £500k total.

Also I have no idea how they are managing to secure so much borrowing on gigg. Surely its value is nowhere near the 9 million or whatever is borrowed against in. Would be interesting to know what the value of spotland is if anyone knows as doubt gigg is much more.

Not sure about sell ons, but academy 1 players can make their original club upto just over a million with 100 premier league appearances according to the rules. Us and bury are both Academy 3 so that figure will be less. Very few academy players taken from the likes of Dale or bury at 15/16 are going to make 100 Prem appearances - lets face it. The rules are hugely stacked in the Prem clubs favour.

Just shows more of the smoke and mirrors. They're spinning this like its a great deal for the club. If Aaron Morley was to leave us now, the deal would be pretty much the same (they may have a higher rating for their academy) and I'd be very disappointed. Certainly wouldn't be shouting from the roof tops about what a great deal it is - it's all about awaiting the 17th birthday and getting him secured on a contract which will give protection to the club.

The point of any youth set up is to benefit the first team and if the players develop to such an extent that a club higher up will pay money for them, then that's a bonus. If we flogged a player to Liverpool who went on to make over a hundred appearances for him and our cut was no more than a million, I'd consider it that we'd been ripped off - such is the unfairness of the EPPP rules.

How does it get out into the press if the deal isn't done? How fair is that on a young kid who then has to go into school with all his mates asking if it's sorted yet?

Also, it's really impressive that Flitcroft knows every 15 year old player in the country to make such a statement.

They can afford (50-100k) to take that risk on any promising 15 year old at any lower league Academy. It only takes 1 John Stones or 1 Raheem Sterling and you've covered your costs for years. Very few will make it.
