tomorrow can't come quick enough 14:17 - Oct 16 with 2263595 views | batman | Not for us, but for Bury. i was credit checking a potential customer and decided to nosey onto BFC's file and was (or maybe not) supprised to see a new CCJ for circa £22k lodged only Wednesday this week. looks like they are in need of a bumper crowd tomorrow to settle some bills
tomorrow can't come quick enough on 16:17 - Dec 24 with 7597 views | D_Alien | Just a thought - but if there is football being played at Gigg Lane from the start of next season, under whatever guise of bury emerges, it might be an idea to offer to play them in a pre-season friendly. With one proviso: That any gate receipts go towards paying some of the debts owed to small businesses, ripped off by previous regimes Plus, it'd be a good trip out and a good workout for our squad

tomorrow can't come quick enough on 22:29 - Jan 7 with 6890 views | EllDale | Forever Bury are apparently claiming on Twitter that contracts have been exchanged for the purchase of Gigg Lane and the deal should be complete by the end of the month.
tomorrow can't come quick enough on 22:57 - Jan 7 with 6829 views | 442Dale | The fans who refuse to acknowledge AFC as a club are now slowly realising that those involved in sorting this deal for Gigg are coming round to acknowledging that having an existing club involved may be the way forward. There’s a good Q&A with Peter Alexander on the Bury forum and there are so many unanswered questions, but the following is stated “Forever Bury and est.1885 will cease to exist. The new club will be free to elect whatever leadership it chooses, from AFC, FB, Est. etc.” Except will egos allow this? Of course, they know.

It a good read that thread and, fair play, most of them have now realised that things need scrutinising rather than just trusting the bloke straight away. Apart from Mr Bisto who he had eating out of his hand after one post. Look up dim and easily led in the dictionary and both will have a picture of him next to them. I’m interested in how this develops because my cousin is heavily involved on one of the sides. And I’m obsessed, obviously.

For someone who was so openly critical of anyone who initially questioned Day and hostile towards Dale fans who could see what was going on, you’d think Bisto chap would have learnt a valuable lesson. Staggering really. There are still too many unanswered questions for me that Alexander didn’t address when it would have been easy to do so. The one about whether they’ve applied for to the FA for a league position and under what guise for example.

Is there a link to this 442? For all of their failings, supporters who put an interest in their club deserve some kudos and there are millions of them across the UK. What happens with bury remains to be seen but if they have got a ground back that is a platform for a positive for any club to build from. And for us another example given Morton House: IT IS WORTHLESS TO ANYONE ELSE SO ALL THAT HAPPENS IS THE FANS HAVE IT BACK IN THE END. Steve Dale bought the ground and ultimately the administrator has sold it back to the fans - which you think was the best offer.

It’s on the ‘Up The Shakers’ forum, but you have to be a member. The problem they have, which was alluded to on this thread a long time ago, is the split that would occur. Looking from the outside, Bury AFC look to have been set up well with transparency and the ability for fans to now have a proper say. Unfortunately it appears that others believed Bury could be saved and refuse to acknowledge the new club. If they were sensible, buying Gigg would be a good thing and then simply letting AFC play there on a rental basis of their members believed that was the way forward. There is no need for others to want a say... unless their egos believe it has to happen. Getting over 1000 fans regularly at NWCL level is more than good enough for a new club, to try and somehow set up another would actually not be the ‘real’ Bury anyway, something the most vocal say about AFC. It’s strange that despite everything, the ingrained attitudes that existed amongst some of their fanbase still remains. Again, individuals who used to post on here were shown up at the time for that, and it’s possible they still haven’t changed. The guilt they should have for backing people like Day should have been enough for them to be more respectful about fellow fans who worked hard to create a club that appears to now be quite well run.

The way forward seems obvious. AFC move into gig lane asap for the revenue and then in the summer they change to Bury FC with crest etc. Means they already have a league position and the on field sorted. The difficulty is the off field organisation. But there seems to be enough people that care so hopefully something can be worked out.

There’s no need to change the name though, either way it’s a newco and it’ll be called Bury. Also, anyone who wants to be involved at AFC could then put themselves up for election to their board. ie it’s already worked out how to have a club that operates and plays games. To change that would make little sense unless others really don’t want it like that, again this is looking at what’s going on from the outside.

Good luck signing up to it though. Some things about them will never change until the end of time. Very backward lot. “…this forum will now only operate as an invitation-only registration system. This means that only current users will be able to invite friends and people they know under the new system. Below I have set out some requirements and rules: * This is not an unlimited system and you will have 1 invite for every 200 posts that you make. * If the person you invite is banned before making 250 posts you will all so be removed from the community. * People who you have invited will show on your profile and will be logged on our Administrators and Moderation board.”

There are persistent claims that the club is coming back. It might well be, but the willingness to pop the corks and drink the health to as of yet unpaid funding is the same as ever. Prospectively back or not, they still don't need proof to get to erecting a billboard.

I noticed the comment about the fact that the football club (the original one) had not been liquidated, unlike other clubs. I also noticed the unquestioning indulgence in Richard Askham's piece, referring to the promotion from L2, but failing to mention the financial mayhem surrounding it. Almost Radio Bolton-esque. But then it was on the BBC.

Just waiting for the announcement of their first £10,000 a week signing. Also the who’s who of mangers that will be waiting to be interviewed for the prestigious job of managing “This famous old cheating club” At least they all get to enjoy another rollercoaster ride 🤣 [Post edited 11 Jan 2022 11:37]

"Two clubs in bury There's only two clubs in bury" One of them hasn't got a team or a position in any league at all. A farce that is ripe for Roger, Alexander and Matthew to cherry-pick. History shows they welcome anyone with false promises and weasel words over there. Unfortunately.
