tomorrow can't come quick enough 14:17 - Oct 16 with 2263335 views | batman | Not for us, but for Bury. i was credit checking a potential customer and decided to nosey onto BFC's file and was (or maybe not) supprised to see a new CCJ for circa £22k lodged only Wednesday this week. looks like they are in need of a bumper crowd tomorrow to settle some bills

tomorrow can't come quick enough on 21:45 - Aug 25 by mikehunt | I wonder if the EFL are bricking it a bit with these clubs? I mean, could they possibly be held accountable for negligence in allowing rogue directors to take over the clubs? After all they are supposed to conduct fit and proper checks aren't they? Better for them to keep them in the league by hook or by crook and then everyone will forget about it and the EFL can continue doing what they do best - which is ....erm? |
I remember David Kilpatrick at a fans forum many years ago say that the Football League didn't care very much about the boardroom side of things providing the competition was well run and that the Football League was there to run the competition. A club falling out of the football league by relegation but with financial issues (Notts County, Stockport etc) is a far more easier management sell then expulsion for the same financial issues. The last expulsion from the League was Port Vale in 1967/68. The EFL will do everything possible to save bury and Bolton and then bizarrely punish them with points deductions for breaking various rules. Both will be relegated from League 1 in May 2020 and then it's over to their ownership. The EFL would quite happily watch problem clubs slip into the non-league via the relegation mechanism if it means not having to deal with them. [Post edited 25 Aug 2019 22:26]

Port Vale kicked out of the league?
tomorrow can't come quick enough on 07:44 - Aug 26 with 4863 views | EllDale | I think that Port Vale were told that they had to apply for reelection at the end of the season which was a mere formality.

to make it even more of a mockery they didnt replace the fouth from bottom, but were an additional applicant, so five clubs applied for relection. Dale were two points above the bottom four and one point behind port vale.

With all the twists and turns anythings possible. Bury seem to have the funding but can they undo all the knots and legalities from SD1 & SD2 and Bolton could still see Anderson cave in. 24 hours is a long time in football...
tomorrow can't come quick enough on 11:58 - Aug 26 with 4378 views | rochedale | I personally, would’ve bet against it happening, I’ve been involved with the sale of a company, and it took months. So if they do complete on time, it’ll be thanks to some serious graft over the weekend.

They'll extend and extend. Bolton may prove me wrong but it's basically impossible to go pop if you can realistically be promoted to The Championship with a good season. The Championship is the fifth biggest league in Europe (I think) and now has serious money and tv rights fees that will only increase. I am astonished we've not had investors knocking at our door.

The Buckets have started selling tickets for the Doncaster match.....

tomorrow can't come quick enough on 14:55 - Aug 26 with 3909 views | EllDale | As I read it they're not allowed any further so they have to prepare for the Doncaster game. Be interesting to see their team. Apparently Manchester United are to offer them five loanees if they're struggling. Off the pitch I wonder how compliant the stadium is safety wise?
tomorrow can't come quick enough on 15:18 - Aug 26 with 3862 views | Molly | That'll be fun then. EFL rules say that a maximum of 4 can be signed from any one club. We all know that Bury are meticulous about sticking to the rules. [Post edited 26 Aug 2019 15:20]

I don’t really care now if they survive or not. If they survive they will get hammered every week and we will have at least another season laughing at them as they struggle to even achieve positive points. I can’t see them getting any serious funding and they could well go into free fall like Stockport did, that’s assuming that the new buyers can raise the funds to clear the debts and run them. Looks like the carnival will be staying in town for a bit longer!!!!

tomorrow can't come quick enough on 17:19 - Aug 26 with 3535 views | macro | The CVA will be the biggest hinderance to bury. It means they will have to pay everything up front or face exorbitant interest rates. These new buyers will need plenty of cash up front.

I seem to remember reading in the last set of accounts the number of employees and was surprised how high it was. Unsure how it splits out football/ off field and full / part time.

That's before they even encounter the problem of how much and who they're paying to actually use Giggle still, the whole mess just wants blowing up and starting fresh in non league for me.

There is also the issue of players who have not been paid by Dale for months, assuming it’s around 4 million a year, and it’s around 6m since Dale paid anyone, that’s another 2 milllion, add Dawson and Bunn wages for a further year, that’s around half a million! They probably owe 15 million and some of it, despite the usual bURY best efforts they won’t avoid. I want them to survive now as the carnage of this season will be hilarious!
