tomorrow can't come quick enough 14:17 - Oct 16 with 2251622 views | batman | Not for us, but for Bury. i was credit checking a potential customer and decided to nosey onto BFC's file and was (or maybe not) supprised to see a new CCJ for circa £22k lodged only Wednesday this week. looks like they are in need of a bumper crowd tomorrow to settle some bills
tomorrow can't come quick enough on 23:14 - Aug 8 with 4994 views | dingdangblue | In the beginning... Bury, some questions. by 442Dale 13 Jun 2013 21:11It's been over two weeks since the takeover and I can't be arsed going searching for answers, but any Bury fan should be able to provide info to the following:
1) have they signed any players yet? If not, why not?
2) has Blackwell done any interviews talking about specific targets?
3) what has the new board said recently regarding finances and squad building?
4) who are they playing pre-season? This will have been sorted, right?
No doubt these are simple questions, and will take about a minute for any Shakers fan to answer. Thanks in advance and I'm sure they'll be able to deal with any other queries from other posters too.

Apparently 'Bury Are Back' and there will be a 'Revolution at Gigg Lane'.
Oh I wish every club could have someone to pay off their ridiculous spending debts. Please note the post from SimpkinsLeftPeg on page 4 "Hopefully one of us sad buggers will have this thread bookmarked for a few years' time so we can have a reet good laugh. "

tomorrow can't come quick enough on 00:58 - Aug 9 with 4775 views | Daley_Lama | I kinda like my own comment 2 days after SD1 was appointed chur, for its current irony. “I wonder if Mr Day has passed the FA fit and proper test?” No gloating in seriousness from me, if they somehow survive then good luck to them, if they do a phoenix club i will be straight over to watch em. Can’t carry on as things are so a final decision has to be made.

That’s about 1/10th of comedy gold provided over 6 years. My personal favourite was SD1 in very tight training shorts pre season training camp! The milky bar kid - what a tool.

tomorrow can't come quick enough on 21:07 - Aug 8 by Thacks_Rabbits | The irony of the whole shambles is Tupac, that in 1 day you have effectively got more of us feeling sorry for you and your clubs situation, than anybody else has since this thread started. Had more of the genuine fans been on here, and less bellends on the bury site lording it, I would imagine you would have received support and maybe even some financial help. Day was a bad un, Dale I am still not 100% sure of as he may see more financial gain in keeping you going, guess time will tell. Has b55 left your board (think that was his name) he always talked sense! |
I don't read their forum as I can't be ar**d registering and find it a joke they have made it such a closed shop, but I do have a gander at Twitter and the stuff some of them come out with after each EFL statement is just laughable. The fees and wages being paid higher up the food chain are out of control I agree, but why on earth should these clubs stop paying these monies out so they can give it to little old bury to bail them out - again! They never learn and would only be in the same situation in a couple of years time when they have overspent AGAIN! A few of the fans are pretty genuine and I feel for them as it must be awful seeing your club slowly die, but it's hard to feel sympathetic for the outspoken ones. The guy who makes me laugh though is the one who has actually been banned for life from gigg lane for slapping a Grimsby player last season. He bleats on about saving his club, when in fact he can't go anywhere near the place anyway!! Comedy gold indeed!!!

Thats not bury fc's fault though James. Its all because of that nasty man Day, that nasty man Dale and the horrible EFL.

tomorrow can't come quick enough on 11:14 - Aug 9 with 3957 views | Daley_Lama | Popular name for a Phoenix Club is 1885 Bury. Wouldn’t it be right for a new club formed in, for example 2020, to instead be called 2020 Bury or Bury20 Examples: Germany Hanover 96 - formed 1896 Shalke 04 - formed in 1904 1860 Munich - re-established in 1860 after original club failed Italy Us Cantezaro 1929 - you get the idea. The logic is rather simple and precidents abound around the world.

I would have thought Bury United would be more apt as they will definitely have to have unity if they are to start again.

It'll never get off the ground. When the penny started to drop that it was all really beginning to go tits up, rather than all get behind Forever Bury, two further groups were founded - BOB and that other from Facebook. That tells you all you need to know about how splintered we are as fans and with so much infighting how could it ever work?

1885 bury ? bury 2020 ? Is that the new number of CCJ's they are planning to amass on their next little ride. Cant wait for 23rd now, please put them out of their misery. They have 3 separate groups all bleating at once so no chance of unity LOL

On the other hand there are 1874 Northwich and Darlington 1883 (now just Darlington). If this does come to pass I do wonder how united/committed they would be and how long it would take them to sell out to a 'benefactor' given their opinion of their true status, which is part of the reason they appear from the outside to listen to anyone promising them the earth. There are numerous examples of these individuals in non-league with grandiose claims which come to nothing with a few obvious exceptions. If they go down this path I hope they don't fall for some charlatan yet again and do due diligence. To get going on something like this in my opinion you ideally need a really proactive Supporters Trust with a history of campaigning, otherwise it is difficult to get momentum. I am not sure I have seen evidence of this from Forever Bury. If they had seen through Day (instead of giving him their shares) and been fighting him in the same way that Blackpool fans did with Oyston, Chester with Vaughan etc, Hereford with their owners, Wimbledon with the Norwegian billionaires and so on then they would be in a better position to start a phoenix club. As it is the fanbase appears to be rather fractured, which makes things almost impossible. A big problem for all these types of clubs is the ground and the fact that as you move up the leagues you need better facilities and there are rules on ground-sharing as well. Chester were lucky that their ground was owned by the council and they had refused to let Terry Smith and Vaughan get their hands on it, so that was a big advantage for the Chester Trust. Compare Darlington and how hard it has been for them to get back to Darlo and I doubt that ground is League standard. Funding for a new ground is big drain on resources even if you have decent support for that level, like FCUM.

I believe they have asked to Daley's to pay for the wall? I really, really hope they have had the foresight to allow other fans in and not just Bury fans. There's a lot of experience out there and to not draw upon that would be even more parochial than the login on Beardy. Anyone with even a scintilla of good advice should be encouraged. If Tupac is reading this I hope he passes the idea on!
