tomorrow can't come quick enough 14:17 - Oct 16 with 2263574 viewsbatman

Not for us, but for Bury.
i was credit checking a potential customer and decided to nosey onto
BFC's file and was (or maybe not) supprised to see a new CCJ for circa £22k lodged
only Wednesday this week.
looks like they are in need of a bumper crowd tomorrow to settle some bills

Have a read of lawinsport.com relating to creditors rules.
The EFL couldn’t give a flying fook about HMRC or the cleaning lady/bar staff as they are guaranteed a pay out in whatever event, meaning that potentially nasty confrontations with people like the PFA/LMA & other football clubs are avoided. If the law were to change & everyone was paid out equally I’m sure the EFL stance & vetting procedures would be radically different. SD2 is only offering what he is obliged to under the current system, flawed as it is.

SD2 can claim, with some justification, that he is merely sorting out someone else's mess. What went on before can't be ignored by any reputable governing body.

Has SD1 been barred from ever running a football club again? If not he bloomin well should be.

Steve Dale clearly has money somewhere - either his own or borrowed.

In the CVA he is propsing to put in £1m which after fees means £875k distributable to unsecured creditors at 25p in the £ - some of which is himself.

He's dealing with the ground and the secured playing creditors separately but slowly.

His recruitment of Paul Wilkinson gives a taste of what is to come and I think £400k might even be a top end budget for their campaign this season. 20 youth players on £20k a year.

All he has been doing is buying time and the longer he stays at their club the stronger his personal position gets.

What type of player is realistically going to sign there after all of the problems with getting paid?

No training ground, no money and no squad. An 4 weeks today they will play MK Dons at home. Less than an ideal preparation.

...assuming they do start in L1 which I find...probable...

...could we use this to OUR advantage if they do have to field a large number of youth-teamers, some of whom may actually man-up to the job in hand and become good enough but be pissed off with the wages. We could 'possibly' offer better terms/contract plus the advantage of being a part of the Rochdale conveyor belt of players we sell on and make money out of.

Just takes some good 'ole scouting down the road?

Or we could lend them some kids to get some experience under their belts.

Like a parent club if you will.

There’s very little to stop bury’s youth players defecting to us or any other club over the next 12 months.

There might be a wrangle about compensation but we’d be dealing with a man who is prepared to take an offer on anything given he only paid £1 for it.

The other opportunity is for our current youth intakes. As it stands if you are a parent of a child in that catchment areas where are your long term interests better served?

Tangentially related, but heard today Halifax Town have cancelled their first pre-season friendly, and are rumoured to only have 10 players on the books. Twice as many as Bury.

OK, so as the dreaded??!! day approacheth can we each throw in our own two-penneth as to outcome.

From my reading between the lines and some highly informative posts I'm going for a temporary...damp squib.

Dale's proposal accepted (or already has been) and the ground (somehow) gets rented back so that bury start the season in some shape or form. Certain debts get paid (or are promised to be paid) and therefore everything continues much as before; for the time being.

Any more out there?

That doesn't include any enquiry by the financial authorities or the EFL into the bad practices and possible breach of rules. I feel there's more sh!te to follow .
