I have not read it but I agree with the sentiment at the moment. We are not creating enough. Our forward passes are being intercepted and we lose possession by going for the long ball option too often from Fab and the back four. We are defending superbly however and racking up the points in the process. I hope they mentioned that ;-) [Post edited 2 Mar 2015 10:26]

It wouldn't bother me if the cnt fell down the stairs and never played for us again. Fcking tw at of a man. There, thats now off my chest.

"Swansea not playing to Gomis strengths" on 10:32 - Mar 2 with 3433 views | monmouth | Ha. if we start whanging crosses into the box from all angles we really will be Stoke! Our creativity is a worry. We can't be averaging much more than a goal per game? And that will be a good conversion rate probably. Getting more players into the box would be a start; it's normally just Gomis...if he is even there. Can't be much fun playing alone up top for us just now.

I am not a huge fan of the man but I couldn't imagine where we would be defensively without Ash at the moment. He has been colossal.

Truly the biggest example of kuntishness ever on this board. Gomis probably would be better at another club . Fact is Rotledge is truly crap as is Dyer and Montero s end product is often zero. Im pretty sure come end of season these points will be addressed.

That was the point I made on Saturday. We were struggling to keep possession in forward positions, it's something since we came up we've been good at. We don't play to Gomis' strengths, but I'm not sure we should be looking to change a way of playing that's been used for years. Graham could hold the ball up, Michu could and Bony was a monster at it, Gomis just isn't. It doesn't make him a bad player, just a bad player for us. Gomis is not a lone striker, he needs someone feeding him and occupying defenders.

This is true. I wonder what the powers that be were thinking when they agreed to pay him all that money?

"Swansea not playing to Gomis strengths" on 11:50 - Mar 2 with 3258 views | nantywatcher | If you look at the other players reaction you can see he is clearly well liked by his team mates. If he was all the things you imagine him to be that would not be the case. He's a team player and a grafter and I can still see him coming good and having a future here. To repeat myself, why do Tony Pulis and Alan Pardew rate him so highly - are you better qualified than those two?

I am with you Nanty. He has been ill advised with his media releases but he still has had very little game time. In the few games he has played we have been concentrating more on keeping shape and the service has therefore been poorer. Even in these situations he has managed to get some major goals for us against top sides whilst at the same time getting in crucial headers in defence.

"Swansea not playing to Gomis strengths" on 12:07 - Mar 2 with 3206 views | perchrockjack | What Bony did was bury his chances- well most of them while Gomis doesn't. Pretty much missed a great chance on Saturday with only keeper to beat but showed no composure at all , but you never know.. he might just kick in with us eventually

Not true. Bony misses a lot of opportunities to score as well, as even your mate Darran alludes to in the Bony thread. You can't expect a striker to score every time he has a sight at goal, and Gomis chances are few and far between, due to us not creating.

Bang on dave. Unfortunately for us the fact that we can't get a tune out of Gomis is more down to our shortcomings than his.

"Swansea not playing to Gomis strengths" on 12:30 - Mar 2 with 3121 views | A_Fans_Dad | It is about time you guys took off your rose tinted glasses. He has had 50 shots at goal, so you can't say he hasn't had "many" chances and scored ZERO with his feet. By comparison Dyer has had only 15 shots and has scored 3 times, Routledge has had 27 shots and scored 3 times, Sygurdsen 42 shots & 4 goals. Even Shelvey has had 38 shots, mostly from long range and has scored 2. So remind me again what his Stiking strengths are, apart from a decent Header and a good defender.

This is exactly the point. I haven't read the article, but the headline is accurate. At the moment, he isn't the right striker for us and we aren't the right club for him. Agree with the Franchise's comments re holding the ball up too.
"Swansea not playing to Gomis strengths" on 12:35 - Mar 2 with 3100 views | Joe_bradshaw | Whether you take the view that he's cr@p or that he's a good player that doesn't suit Swansea City, I keep wondering who did the scouting and research to reach the conclusion that we should pay him all that money? Someone made what is increasingly looking like an expensive mistake with Gomis.

Don't be ridiculous. Dyer and Routs have got about ten years experience with us between them and Bafe's got a few disappointing months of mainly warming the bench. Apples and oranges.

When a striker gets as few chances as Gomis does it's not surprising to see him snatch at them. Playing upfront on your own is one of the hardest jobs in football. It's made even harder when the service or support is lacking. Wilf could do it because he was Wilf. Gomis just isn't that kind of player. I suspect we brought him in thinking that we'd play him alongside Bony regularly, a plan which was quickly ditched after that pre-season debacle.
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

I have the same feeling that he was bought for a 2 up front option which was benched after pre-season. I cannot see him staying here as he does not fit into the strengths of the rest of the team which is 5 in midfield. He is snatching at chances and looking gash in the process. Different team and set up and it could be different.
