Shocking >>

you need to make a detailed report to the club and ask for a response.

The stewards are there to help all supporters and ensure safety NOT to pander to their own ego thinking they are some pumped up law enforcer.

Noticed a steward on the Pearl Street take a jumper out of someone's bag and just throw it at them as he continued checking. Made no attempt to put it back and just gave the bag back and ignored them.

Recently, due to a progressive disability I have found it more and more difficult to get through the turnstiles. I,ve seen the OP and his usual practice was to pay at the turnstile then have a steward escort him through the gates, a practice that I fully intended to copy in the not too distant future, however should I come up against the steward in question I,m afraid that I won,t be as polite as the OP

Its not on when there has never been a previous problem. But its a bit much to make someone who clearly has mobility problems to walk the length of the stadium to gain access and then get a transfer to be able to sit in his regular seat. I know this guy personally and after going to a Dale match he is unable to walk for a few days afterwards as its such an effort to actually get to a game. It seems like the club are employing people with little or no common sense.

Up The Dale!!

I'm sure that the club wouldn't want or condone such behaviour. They need to be told. I emailed Colin Garlick about a far more trivial, but annoying, stewarding matter a while back and he investigated and replied with an explanation and apology within the afternoon .

rdale39, by "no more goldbond or cash off me", does that mean you will stop going to any more games? If so, can I beg you to re-consider?

Not just for RAFC but for all disabled supporters the country over. We need football to be more accommodating to disabled people and especially wheelchair supporters (where some are a lot better than others). If more of us turn up (and my son is in a wheelchair) then that puts more pressure on clubs to take action, having said that, there are some grounds that I can't or won't take him to as they haven't got the facilities.

I think you will find that... facilities have to be provided by law.

I hope the " no more goldbond or cash off me ,, good luck dale." was said in anger rdale39 and not something that happens.

For one alleged bad steward there are a gaggle og half time draw sales people, St John's volunteers, turnstile operatives who give their time voluntarily to the club.

There are also lots of very nice Stewards employed at Spotland from my experience currently. One bad egg etc.

I'd try this route too. As an aside, the fixings on my lad's seat broke at the Stoke game so I told CG about it after the match, he took all the details and said he'd sort it which is exactly what had happened by the next home game.
