I thought that the team that lead the league in the early 80's had some better and more exciting individual players than Swans teams of this generation, but the Swans teams of this generation were more of a team, keeping the ball, not losing their shape and defensively more cute.
Here's my mix and match fantasy team from those era's:- Vorm Rangel - J.Charles - A.Williams - Hadžiabdić Sigurdsson - Michu -R James Curtis - Latchford - L.James
Had to get Charlo in, Bony could take Latchford if he scores lots of goals again this season, honourable mentions to Monk, Britton, Mahoney, Sinclair and Dyer.

Its my choice, how many players would you pick the same as me ?, it would be nuts not to pick lots of them and you have only made comment on one selection, when saying ''for starters"", I even gave a reason, Charlo was such a good player he had to be in my team, he could play a varierty of positions.

Imagine having Ante alongside Ash, wow, that would be some partnership.
In my opinion Rajkovic was the best defender in the country that first year we were back in the first division his mate had a lot of the headlines but what a defender this boy was.

Fantastic player. A legend even before hacking down that Cardiff player in the Welsh Cup Final. Still here the Ante chant in my head now.

Ante was an old school enforcer who could play, Jimmy was a player, Ante won 6 caps and Jimmy 20 caps but according to what I read neither played internationals when with Swansea, might have been to do with the situation in their homeland.
The cup final that Ante got sent off in is probably on youtube I would imagine.

They did- about 2 mins in-in the midst of a lot of ongoing aggro.
It was about 10 minutes left when Ante saw red followed by a lot of celebration, not least from Robbie James

Both players and tactics were a revelation at that point. We really could and perhaps should have won the league.
Toshack's defensive tactics were quite unusual at the time. Two centre backs (normally two out of Nigel Stevenson, Jeremy Charles or Max Thompson) with a sweeper (Rajkovic, then later on Dudley Lewis) slightly behind them, then two wing backs (Robinson or Stanley on the right and Jimmy on the left).
I remember there was a period were our 3 central defenders were Nigel, Jeremy and Dudley...

Charlo was good, but not that good.
I’d probably have Leon in there instead of Glyfi, to balance the midfield a bit.
Vorm would probably make the team, but his performances over 2 of the 3 years here, were not good. If Fabianski carries on his form, he’d take that spot.
