'Giving everything' i.e. running around like a fvcking headless chicken isn't good enough. You can get players who will give everything and would run themselves into the ground for the team from the local Swansea League but they won't be good enough. |
Our whole team is running themselves into the ground recently - but it is far from good enough in terms of results which is all that really matters to us just now.
Also if the team is wound up too tight they are more not less likely to do such things. We need a cool calm hand. Perhaps he was dreading being personally targeted like Angel if he let a goal through? |  | | |

I m all for debate and a little bitching but sorry Phil Chico was indefensible yesterday. He wasn't vicious nor maimed a player which is what the likes of Cattermole and Adam try to do. He singlehandedly gave Dowd an opportunity to give Chelsea the advantage. Chelsea were their normal arseole selves with the posturing preening edifice that is Mourinho to the fore.

The second absolutely was more of a yellow than the first. And the first was a blatant yellow.
Any charge toward the box/byline that is halted by a clumsy trip will 9 times out of 10 see a yellow card.

He never looks rushed and I'm appalled so many people on here and at the stadium believe the red must hype about him. He got sent off against palace due to Vorm's red mist moment and took one for the team. Now he's an accident waiting to happen apparently for getting two of the softest yellows I've ever seen and Mourinho telling the 4th official to send him off for it.

Two yellows for me, all day long. We can wonder why Dowd took so long to give the second one and the arguments about how he got to that decision and the influence of certain players / managers on referees are for another thread but, for me, he got it right in the end.
I would agree that Chico hasn't been up to his usual standard the last few games but was excellent just a couple of months back - I thought he played excellently well in the first few games after Monk took over. I still think that, at his best, he's certainly good enough for us but needs to be more consistent.
However, the similarities between the Schurrle tackle and the penalty he conceded against Everton do certainly give cause for concern. They suggest that, for whatever reason, he's not learning from his mistakes which is worrying. |  | | |
