Mate of mine is a sports correspondent at The Times. Strong rumor going round there today that Harry is toast in the morning.
He said "Should be in tomorrow's paper I think"
Sure its total rumor but thought I'd share it for some drama.

Poll: Serious concern we'll double drop?

Times Rumor on 10:20 - Feb 24 with 2171 viewsdaveB

Not really got a problem with Redknapp going on the radio, if he said nothing or sounded panicked saying we're doomed when the season is very much alive then I'd be more worried about him.

As for Laudrup I'm not a big fan, I think that would be another poor move by the club

I would swap him for Malkay Mackay in half a second. Something needs to change.

Laudrup is also being linked to the Barcelona job after martino. Surly he is good enough for us. But yer.. Tony should make sure he is not seeing us a short term stop.

I worry about Laudrup (I know we have a manager, and this is previous but anyway...). There were a lot of comments recently alluding to his short-termism, his lack of loyalty and his links to one agent in particular. That sounds oddly familiar. Can't think why.

I'm not sure about Laudrup.

Can't remember where I heard it, but apparently all was not rosy at Swansea. Laurdrup was never at training (left it to his coaches) and there was a complete lack of intensity to the training. The players didn't like him and found him arrogant. Plus what's been said about his agent dealings. And never had medium to long term success anywhere.

Doesn't sound right for us to me.

Something I heard 2nd hand from someone in our youth team coaching set up was that first team training at the minute completely lacks intensity. Redknapp is never there for it and the players just go through the motions exactly like our play at Chartlon. Was told Will Keane was shocked at the standard of training sessions since arriving. Everyone in 2nd gear.

We need a young, motivated, energetic manager to get these players out of their slumber. I don't think any of Zola, Laudrup, Clarke or Mackay are right.

But i'll admit, I don't actually know who is.

That's what he said on his Talksport interview this morning, they mentioned Adel perhaps finding his place in Italy. Harry said, he wanted to keep him in Jan when Fulham wanted him out , once Milan came in, it was too late.

Just trying to cover his arse, in case Adel starts doing really well again.... he can then say... not my fault
[Post edited 24 Feb 2014 9:30]

Excuse me for being naive but if Fulham made it known that they didn't want Adel anymore then it is QPR that remains the club that makes the decision on whether he stays or not, not Fulham or Milan. Or am I missing something.

So, just so I understand correctly. It's ok for people to post on here to defend Redknapp, but not to criticise him.

Thanks for that, carry on.

Laudrup has a record of doing very well in his first season and then it all going wrong in season 2 - not exactly the long term solution!

Plus when you take into account his agents meddling and his transfer demands at Swansea (threw a fit and threatened to quit), i'd say no thanks!

Might as well see out the season with 'Arry now and be prepared for another season in the Championship.

In the summer, a clean sweep of Manager, his 'coaches' and 15 or so players out of contract. Get a bit of cash in for Remy, Mbia and Adel too.

Rebuild a team around the players like Simpson, Onouha, Austin, Phillips and Barton with a manager with a plan and coaches who can coach.

I'd let Barton go. His wages are ridiculous and he really isn't as good as he thinks he is. I've noticed that he only does well against your lesser teams and struggles against top 6 six teams. The decent teams get the better of him and he responds by picking up bookings.

Wasn't his initial reaction to laugh about Milan signing him?
I doubt even Harry knows which is true and which is real these days.

Bare bones.

Also, he inherited a very good, football playing squad when he took over at Swansea. He also made some very good signings and wanted to bring in more but the Swansea board wouldnt sanction it.

To let Barton go would cost around £5m to pay off his contract.

Yes, we could let him go on a free transfer but it would need a club to offer him the salary he'd be happy with or a type of club he'd want to play for and in the PL there are probably only three (Everton, Man City & Newcastle) and I can't see him going to any of those.

If Marseille wanted him that much, why didn't they get him in the summer?

Well if Harry gets the bullet - 11 'o clock and he's still there btw - I can't really see Laudup as the shoe - in promotion expert.Great for the Prem with the sort of football we seem to despise as inappropriate at Championship level. So if you're determined to engage one of those street walkers with the P45 still warm in the hands, would it not be better to have someone attuned to the task like Curbishley?Someone also attuned to British traditional training methods - and yes, unlike Redknapp apparently.

Redknapp will only go if we get beat next week imo, Laudrup us a typical QPR move, no homework done on what he's actually like or how he works he's just a big name so go for him.

I like this...

s assistant manager to Morten Olsen, Denmark employed a 4—2—3—1 system with pacey wingers playing the pivotal role in attack. Laudrup learnt from Olsen and used the same tactical style with Brøndby, with the team becoming more attacking and focused on a short passing style. He continued to employ a similar tactical style when he joined Getafe, ushering a new brand of exciting and free-flowing attacking football, to help the club to the Copa del Rey final. However, at Spartak Moscow, he could not adapt his formation and tactics to the Russian game with the team unable to score enough goals per match.

As RCD Mallorca manager, Laudrup inspired a Mallorca team, who were losing a number of key players, from relegation by playing an offensive game. In 2012, Laudrup joined Swansea City as manager, replacing Brendan Rodgers.[46] Under Rodgers, Swansea were known to play a 4—3—3 approach with a lot of focus on passing, where the full-backs pushed up when in possession and the outfield players played a high tempo pressing game. Under Laudrup, the team began employing a 4—2—3—1 formation, becoming more attacking, while retaining the passing and pressing game. He also signed a number of new players, primarily from La Liga, trying to bring the attacking style from Spain to Wales, which saw more goals being scored.[47] Laudrup said: "You can get a lot of quality for a reasonable amount in Spain right now".[48]

Laudrup earned plaudits for maintaining their flowing, attacking brand of football and attractive, passing style of play throughout the season, which saw his side win the Capital One Cup, after thumping Bradford City a record 5—0 in the final. "You can't ask players to do things that Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are doing, but you can ask the easy things" he said. "Sometimes the easiest things in football, a simple pass five or eight yards, can be the most effective. That, everybody can learn."[49]

I was never a fan of Redknapp before he came here, and have always resented what he represents as a QPR manager. Thing is, I agree with Clive in the match report: sacking him is only an answer if you think TF and friends will make a change in philosophy and start looking at the building of a QPR side that we can all be proud of as a long term job. They have never given any indication of this at all unfortunately, so we're likely to continue with the pattern of 'new manager - load of signings - disjointed team full of over-paid past its - under achieve - new manager - etc'.

So sick of all this, what do I do to quit?

I wouldn't want Laudrup. Track record of great initial impact followed by very poor second season. I would want someone that looks at all elements of the club from the foundations up. Mackay would be perfect IMO, Cardiff should never have let him go.

In response to:

But, as we have already established, its fine to defend Redknapp all you like, just dont come on here and criticise him.

There's a bit of growing up required all round.
