That Was The Squad That Was
Written by Watchman on Sunday, 22nd Jun 2014 21:36

So nearly half way through the World Cup, England are out already and so attention start to turn to 2014/15. The fixtures are out, the kit is out, the sponsors announced all before the WC ends is the normality that the Chairman spoke about at the time of Laudrup's sacking playing out I think so.

So the attention turns to the important stuff who will wear the White and Red/Black in our 4th Season of top flight football and more controversially may be who is not going to wearing the colours of SCFC.

Chairman spoke of freshening things up and I think by the first signing of Fabianski that the club are not going to stand on laurels here and I do think there are surprises on the way in and out this summer.

So in the true spirit of Football Manager 2014/15 Here is the Watchman squad that would be taking the field!

GoalKeepers

Out go Vorm and Tremmell in come Fabianski and McCarthy

FullBacks

Will remain as last year but Taylor would slot in at the right hand side and Rangel is now cover for him, Out goes Obeng

Centre Halves

Out go Tate and Williams time to move on experience maybe but time for fresh faces and a little more earthiness at the back, It was a close call with Flores/Williams but Flores needs to be told cut out the silly stuff. In comes Caulker whilst Bartley and Amat step up

Midfield

Time to have some real options so Out go Michu, Canas, Pozuelo, no more histrionics, and tantrums time to grow up and get cracking. Only one to come in and that would be Gylfi Sig he knows us and we know him and we know he can fit into our system and he brings with him Free Kicks and Corners!

Forwards

Out goes Donnelly he has not stepped up and its time to let go just think it was one of Rodgers wild cards that never quite worked out. In come Emnes and Gomis to bring pace and width not just up front but options out wide if the regular wingers are out injured. The incoming is the wild card that we seem to pull out of the hat and I am going to plump for Ivan Santini 15 Goals from 30 odd games in Belgium top flight last year! A solid back up to Bony who in no way shape or form is to be sold. Santini is 6ft 3 and along with Gylfi, Caulker, Bartley and Gomis brings added height to the squad

So The Watchman Squad looks like this

Goalkeepers

Fabianski

McCarthy

Zabrat

Defenders

Rangel

Davies

Taylor

Tiendalli

Caulker

Flores

Amat

Bartley

Midfielders

LEON

Fulton

Ki

Gylfi

Jonjo

Dyer

Hernandez

Routledge

Forwards

Bony

Santini

Gomis

Emnes

So something to ponder and rip apart but hey ho thats the fun
