Tyler Dibling Disrespected As Newcastle Ready To Pounce

According to reports in the media, Newcastle United are said to be ready to pounce for Tyler Dibling as media reports suggest the player feels disrespected by Southampton in contract talks.

The media has been full of reports that Tyler Dibling will be the subject of big bids in the January transfer window, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Newcastle United, Arsenal, Liverpool and even Chelsea whom he once spurned to return to St Mary's have been linked.

Saints are in no hurry to sell although they will be well aware that it will be hard to keep him should the club be relegated, which at this moment looks inevitable.

They are also in a strong position in that Dibling is under contract until July 2027 and Saints also have an option to extend that to 2028 if they choose to.

Recently they have been in talks with the player, not so much to extend the term of the deal he is currently signed up to, but to increase his pay, they want to reward him for his performances this season and take it from his current deal that is based on him being a promising talent on the fringes of the first team, to one that reflects that he is now a key member of the side.

Dibling and his family are known to put his career before money, however from things that have been said recently it seems that his agents do not feel the same way, Russell martin had alluded to that in a recent press conference before his departure.

His agents are a German company called Roof, whose roster seems to be made up mainly of players in Germany & Austria with very few in the Premier League, Kai Havertz & Virgil Van Dijk being the most prominent, however a look at their list shows Dibling rated at 22 million Euros and their 20th ranked player at only 15 million euros, perhaps suggesting with 115 of the 135 players on their roster not worth much, they see Dibling very much as a cash cow.

Now the rumour mill is being stirred up by a report on talksport.com who suggest that:

"Reliable sources close to the south coast side says he feels ‘disrespected’ by the way talks have been handled."

Just what that means is unclear, but we can surmise that the reliable source mentioned is Talksport journalist Alex Crook who is from Portsmouth and in his career starting at a Pompey based sports agency and now Talksport never misses a chance to stir up things for Southampton FC.

So perhaps we can take this rumour with a pinch of salt, but Saints should not lose focus and should stay with their finger on the pulse, Dibling's agent is clearly looking to make money from his client in the short term and although Tyler & his family seem to have a clear path forward, they are going to see big figures quoted in the press as his agent looks to manipulate a move.
