How The Southampton FC Flag Is Being Flown In California.

If you are ever just South of Los Angeles in Orange County in California, don't be surprised if you see some football teams playing in full Southampton FC football strips, it is all down to the dedication of one man, find out his story here.

Tim Mumford who will be familiar to Saints message board regulars as Tijuana Tim has been living in California for over 30 years, almost half of his life.

Growing up in Warsash, then border territory between Saints & Pompey fans before the expansion of the Southampton Empire East, he was resolutely a Southampton supporter since a young child and was a regular at the Dell when he wasn't playing football himself.

In the late 80's he moved to California for work and has remained there ever since, being heavily involved with football in Orange County and helping in it's development from a minority sport at that time not only in California but the whole of the USA.

Tim who is a season ticket holder at LA Galaxy was in there at the grass roots level playing for various teams and even in his 60's still active at a good standard, however he has never lost his passion for Southampton FC , regularly returning back to England to see the team play and was present at the FA Cup Final in 2003 amongst other games.

Being someone who has always helped others he became involved in running a women's side and then in youth football.

Anyway I won't keep you any further, watch this video below produced by Southampton Football Club itself about Tim and how he has helped fly the Southampton flag in the USA.
