It's the day all football fans look forward to from the moment the previous season ends, that moment when you find out just who when and where your team will be playing the following season and for Southampton and all fans of Premier league clubs, that day is today.
This is the 10th opening day in the Premier League since our return to the top flight in 2012, of the previous 9 we have won just once and that was 8 years ago when we beat West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns with a last minute Rickie Lambert penalty, can we get three points this season in the first fixture, the last 9 years and indeed the last 30 if we go back further suggest not.
