Dale have received one of the biggest cash injections in the club's history without lifting a finger as Scott Hogan moved from Brentford to Villa.
The fee ranges from an initial £9 million to £15 million to the beloved "Undisclosed fee", and our sell on clause on profit of the deal ranges from 20% to 30% depending on which report you read, but we're probably talking a minimum of £2 million coming our way to begin with, with further funds coming our way in add ons should Villa return to the Premiership within a set period of time.
Dale sold Scott Hogan to Brentford after our promotion season three seasons ago. It was a story straight out the comics, with Hogan returning to the club that released him three or four seasons earlier and becoming an unbelievable success.
In signing for Villa, this is his second attempted move to the Birmingham area after nearly signing for Birmingham City back in 2013 before signing for Dale. That would have been a free transfer but the move didn't occur with Hogan incorrectly claiming it was down to Birmingham heading for administration.
