Watford v QPR Betting Preview

Two pundits from our pool of betting excellence cast their eyes over the weekend markets hunting for value and tips.

Ruby Walsh did neither pundit any favours last week – they both backed him and he ended up on the surgeon’s table rather than the winner’s circle. That means Brian is now down £273.50 while the challenger account is also overdrawn by £171.89. Still I’m having another go myself this week and I didn’t do too badly last time so onwards and upwards as they say.

Brian Power
Not a good weekend for us last week. I tip us to win and we lose, Leicester concede 2 late goals to cost us a winner, Ruby Walsh falls and is taken to hospital and has to have his spleen removed and Joe Swash ends up getting ointment rubbed on his backside by a 70 year old gay man who was in Star Trek. No cracks about “Beam me up“.

Our new boss hits town this week and we all wish him luck and let’s hope he is given longer in the job than the last couple. It is a brave choice from the board and his first 2 games are local derbies. With the troubles that Watford and Charlton are having I can see us picking up 6 points from these two games and we will go for Cook to score 1st and us to win 3-1 in both games. While I am on the subject of Charlton I wonder if we have missed a trick and should have gone for Alan Curbishley as manager. This week someone could win over 2 million on the horses with the Scoop6 rolling over to its highest ever amount. If I thought my luck was bad I should think of the poor soul almost won it last week but his final selection a 66/1 shot got beaten into second. I will stay clear of this and have a £5 e/w treble on the 3 jacks running but will probably mean I win Jack S*** this week again.

For the weekend:
Lee Cook 1st goal V Watford £5
QPR to beat Watford 3-1 £5
Lee Cook 1st goal V Charlton £5
QPR to beat Charlton 3-1 £5
Millwall 11/8 MK Dons 13/8 Darlington 15/8 Aldershot 6/4 all sky bet £2 trebles and £2 acca
Reading 2/5 Wolves 1/2 Wycombe 4/6 Rangers 1/3 Celtic 1/3 Dundee Utd 4/9 Skybet £10 acca
£5 e/w treble 1.20 ascot Jack the Giant 1.55 Ascot Crackaway Jack 2.55 Huntingdon King Jack

The Challenger
Well they say if you want a job doing, do it yourself and while my first foray into this murky world may not have appeared to be a roaring success a fortnight ago I’m quite proud of my efforts. I won nearly thirty quid by backing Alfreton and Eastwood in the FA Cup and while I technically lost money backing Droylsden and Kettering to cause FA Cup shocks – they did both win their replays. So I’m claiming a moral victory.

This week I’ve got two QPR bets and a couple of others from around the weekend’s fixtures to try and win us some money back – Man City look a big price to me.

For the weekend:
£10 Man City to beat Arsenal at 11/5
£10 Villa and Man Utd to draw at 5/2
£10 QPR to win at Watford at 9/5
£5 Damion Stewart first/last goal 28/1
£10 Heidar Helguson first goal, price not yet available
