alt="Two counsellors" hspace="7" vspace="7" align="left" /> This month, we are delighted to help to promote awareness of Childline. Childline was set up over twenty years by Esther Rantzen and is without doubt one of the most worthy Charities in the country.

Unfortunately, despite all of Childline's best efforts, it remains one of the most needed charities in the UK. Every day around 4,500 children call ChildLine, but lack of funds means that only 2,500 of them will get through to their counsellors for comfort, advice and protection due to a lack of funding and trained Counsellors.

There are 1,380 trained volunteers working for Childline, but each one costs over £1,500 to train in what must be a heart breaking and harrowing commitment, and as a result, it is very difficult for Childline to provide the level of service that it would like to meet the demand of the 4,500 phones calls from sexually and physically abused, bullied and vulnerable children who attempt to gain help from Childline every day of every week throughout the year.

As with any charity, Childline are desperate for funds to continue their excellent work. Once you realise that it costs on average £38 to counsel a young caller, then it's not difficult to see how the costs mount up, and Childline will be delighted to welcome any help that you can offer.

You can help Childline by either donating or through fund raising:

Donate online - A safe and secure donation takes only a minute

Give regularly - Can you spare £3 per month - less than 10p a day? If you can, you will provide counselling for one more desperate child.

Other ways to help - Donate by cheque, leave a legacy, volunteer, get a ChildLine visa card, shop with ChildLine, or more. And you can ring their donation line on 0800 876 6000 and donate by credit or debit card.

Supporter services - If you have any questions or require further information about donating to ChildLine, their Supporter Services team will be delighted to help you. Contact ChildLine Supporter Services by phone on 0207 650 3370 or via email.
