New Year transfer window rumours
at 13:36 23 Jan 2025

There is a simple reason for that, which Gallen knows full well. A ‘proven’ striker in January would set you back £10m+ which are waters QPR haven’t fished in for many years.

Interesting with Taarabt that he did Onouha’s podcast a few years back and was very introspective about how he had sabotaged his own career and had only put the dots together when dumped into the benfica reserve team with 18 year olds. It seemed like he had finally grown up.

Getting kicked out of a club at going on 36 suggests that infact it was all a ruse and he’s still the same guy he always was.

Nobody is buying Eze, especially not for anything close to £60m

Ashby injured or hooked?
at 09:04 22 Jan 2025

As to the question, obviously a tactical change and the right one to make - Hull were not causing trouble down the sides, everything was coming through the middle, exploiting the chasms of space left by the Leaning Tower of Madsen. Getting Colback on for the final 5 to swing a leg at anything that moved was a smart move.

He’s only at the club in the first place because Santos is so far off the required standard that we had to go out and get another RB.

Clive meeting with Nourry

Don’t think he’s out of contract this summer but as posted in the thread claiming he was a cnt, it’s definitely a trial of sorts and as Cifuentes likes him I wouldn’t be surprised if it ended up going permanent already at the end of the month, especially so if Reuben has someone else he would like to punt our way.

Effect on Team Form - Momentum Changer !!
at 09:32 12 Jan 2025

Absolutely zero impact. As with everyone else I have fond memories of the FA Cup but nobody within football gives two shits anymore.

The older lads will have gone straight from the training ground to meet the Mrs for an expensive dinner the younger lads straight to a club and today they’ll have forgotten about it already.

He’s fine. Neither particularly good, nor particularly shit, isn’t costing anything financially and Cifuentes likes him. Wouldn’t be surprised if we took him permanently.

It’ll be a strong team, Cifuentes won’t want to lose momentum and will want to test his team against a PL one.

One of the best signings we could make this window
at 12:37 2 Jan 2025

Take it with a huge pinch of salt, as you should anything on the internet, but I was told he’s signed a new deal and it’s just awaiting announcement. We have unsurprisingly taken the 12 month option on Chair as well.

Respectfully Gaz, if you think their goal was Ashby’s fault I’d wager you don’t know much about football…

Cifuentes will still be hard thinking about Ashby’s performance. Literally what he’s been dreaming of from a full back since he joined.

In fairness Gaz, Cifuentes is also on the side of those posters as he has had an issue with Paal from day one and was fully behind getting him gone in the summer.

Yeah I fully understand why he made the change and of course he’s not a psychic so couldn’t have known how rusty Frey would be.

That said, as mentioned it’s a concern that when he joined us after a few months with little action he moved like he was awaiting a knee replacement, finally seemed to get going with a full pre-season and now again after a month out is moving like he’s wearing Trumps cuban heels.

I mean of course it’s harsh on Frey who always tries his hardest, but he was moving yesterday like an osteoporosis sufferer and it just allowed Norwich to push their backline up 10 yards as they no longer had to worry about Kolli chasing a bag in the wind and then as you say when Smyth went off they could just come up to the halfway line and setup deckchairs.

Late to the party but as most say, good response to Swansea and frustrating to concede but it was coming for at least 15 minutes.

Frey for Kolli in retrospect was a bad choice as he’s back to last seasons qualifying for a mobility scooter, and I was thinking Bennie/anyone for Chair at least 10 mins before it happened as he had stopped getting back in.

Guardiola has spoke publicly about how he was ‘obsessed’ with Phillips in that Bielsa system and how he was horrified once they signed him and he quickly realised the guy couldn’t play in any other system.
