Was planning on streaming this, but £3 for an U21 game seems a bit tight so will follow on twitter. Imagine there's a behind doors friendly going on with the first team, as a lot of players missing. Sutton, Petrie, etc. From this squad, Wiles is an u16, Cuthbert hasn't played at this level before. Luke O'Brien, the new CAM we signed from Hereford, looks decent.
Ye, really poor. Adam Wharton, Elliot Anderson, and Morgan Gibbs-White (albeit a more attacking player) all overlooked for Henderson. Sends the wrong message.
That's an interesting point, and does seem to be backed up by the (limited) studies on the subject - https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/22697802/. Does look like it leads to an increase in non-contact and overuse injuries. This study took place in Tunisia however where training was shifted to 22:00 to allow the players to break fast. It would be interesting to see whether this was replicated in the UK where players play whilst fasting, and to what extent.
Polling consistently shows ULEZ is a popular policy across residents of both inner and outer London. It's exceeded targets in reducing pollution and led to significantly cleaner air, improving the quality of life for Londoners. The main opposition comes from people who don't live in London but drive in for other reasons - should their concerns be put ahead of actual residents? Of course not.
The ludicrous cost and poor standard of public transport in this country is another issue altogether, but I absolutely agree it needs to be reined in and reduced if we are going to encourage people to leave their cars at home. Start by taking it into public control and stop companies skimming off the top while services decline.
Bizarre that we gave him a contract in the summer though - hardly points to much joined up thinking, immediately bombed out the squad and loaned to a second division Swedish side.
I play football with the landlord of the Distillers, I'll pass on your feedback! I think with certain Fullers pubs, there's a big push to sell less of the traditional beers and more of the craft ales. Last time I was in they had far too many types of odd cloudy ciders, Belgian sours, and even mead! Not my cup of tea, although I don't mind the new hoppy IPAs that have sprung up everywhere.
The C&S is more traditional and usually has Fullers and ESB I think and doesn't lean into the craft as heavily. They have just got a new tap with three different types of fruity cider however, so god knows.
I think the offside one is a difficult one to draw the line on (no pun intended) and frequently argue with Clive about this. For me offside is binary - you're offside or you're not. If you start introducing caveats like the attacking player has to have an advantage from being offside, it will be more subjective chaos. I hate VAR, want rid of it in all football, including for offsides for the way it kills the emotion of the game, but we can't start differentiating between what's in the spirit of the game and what's not. It's not cricket.
Feel like this needs caveating that it was their annual 'Town v Gown' match where they play the Oxford University team, rather than this being a competitive league fixture. While checking this out, was surprised to see our old friend Cole Kpekawa now plying his trade for Town at that level - still only 28.
The Eagle is like a creche, so many feral kids in the garden when the weather is nice. Not a place for drinkers. The Orchard on the other hand... Glad they turned it back into a pub after its brief spell pushing it as a wine bar but without actually redoing any of the interior, just sticking a couple fridges and a wine rack in.
It's a shame Tuck didn't go up to the National League, instead moving slightly up the NL South.
Played one of the youngest sides we've ever played in the Dev Squad yesterday, with an average age of the outfield squad just 16.88 years old, including Leon Scarlett and Kyreece Moore who are just 15 years old. Great to see that shift of the age of the team down, instead of keeping 21 year old Rafferty Pedder's around too long.
Absolutely hideous place, loads of over the top flowery decor. Doesn't look like a pub at all. Steer clear. Used to be The Hampshire Hog, which I never really got on with either. You're a stones throw from The Salutation which was a great Fullers pub and is now a (very good) Thai Restaurant in disguise.
Surely any such canopy would block the view from the back rows of School End Lower, so you wouldn't actually gain any capacity? You can also imagine some idiot pissed up away fan jumping down onto the canopy being a wally and it causing mayhem.
One of the best things my Dad did for me was insist on having firstnamelastname@hotmail.com, rather than something about penguins which is what I wanted when I was 10 and setting up an email account for MSN messenger. Appreciated it so much, that I've already set up firstnamelastname@hotmail.com for my 6-month old son - might go squat the Gmail account of the same name to give him the choice.
