Handy game to have half way through the season.

An opportunity to evaluate what needs to be moved on and what to keep, in a competitive match, but without the pressure of points to be gained or lost and league tables.

Confirmation if nothing else, that Madsen isn’t and never will be good enough, Ashby is never more than 90 minutes away from a calamity and Saito, as likeable as he is, is John Delve status at absolute best and is only a bench player.

All in all, look at it as a positive day for the club.

I really cannot get my head around fans giving it the heh ho let’s forget it as we were expected to lose response
Leicester have been dog Sh1t for weeks and we turn up and get our belly’s tickled and sent on our way again and for what so we can rest players for Plymouth, do me a favour
As another poster has said it’s embarrassing
It’s Leicester not Real Madrid

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Embarrassing performance but not as embarrassing as the 38% on here

Am genuinely fascinated that LfWorders are split right down the middle between indifference and rage/depression about today's events. We're about as united on this topic as Trump's America or Brexit referendees, which is worth knowing, I think. (I agree with the poster who can't get his head around the former.)

Got to say, good question- the question tonight.

I'm totally torn here . I want to feel more angry and depressed than I actually am tonight - which I think speaks volumes, having been hit for six. Probably a clear divide between the 4500 who soldiered to the East Midlands and those of us that didnt.
A shame, and something to reflect on. But a 1-0 win courtesy of a Plymouth own goal next week would wipe this completely, sadly. Back on the horse please, Marti - no 'Olly-style spirals, thank you.

I can take some positives from that game

- For a lot of the first half we had them on the rack and it was a good end to end game, we weren’t there to park the bus and looked good doing it
- If Dunne and Smyth were our starting right hand side we would maybe have won (they weren’t, but that’s a separate issue)
- JCS did 90 minutes which is important, plus Frey and Colback are starting to look like they’re back in earnest, which bodes well for the second half of the season

Ultimately if Ashby hadn’t gifted them a goal at 1-1 and again at 2-3 I think that was a winnable game which is infuriating, but we weren’t battered at all, it didn’t feel like a 6-2 game

The last 20 mins without Field and Chair are a bit irrelevant as we’d given up by then

Having said that I wasn’t there, I might feel different if I’d trekked all the way up there in that weather

Generally thought it a strange game, for me what I could see in the fog was Leicester took their chances we didn't and conceding so early was a real downer. Our keeper never really made a save and what was Ashby doing most of the time, especially the penalty give away. Madsen least said the better. We had a good period when we scored but Leicester are just a better team. Left at 75 mins, earliest ever left a Rangers match but to be honest the game was done for me when they got 3-1 ahead.

Sorry Marti, but this ones on you.
No need to field a weakened side with no midweek games either side. Then at halftime, everyone and their dog knew what subs had to be made. JD, Morgan and Smyth would have meant we started the second half with our strongest available 11, except for Frey, who we could use to effect later.
You talked a good pre game but didnt deliver. Especially with 4.5k fans travelling. I've been trying to see your reasoning the last 2 hours, especially the lack of substitutes, but I'm bewildered.

Technology advances, unfortunately humans do not.

when i paid for a ticket, travel, food and drink to go to leicester today, i did'nt think, oh wait a minute i hope we lose and concentrate on the league, if we lose oh never mind always next year......no i was fu....ng gutted, they were and are beatable especially with our strongest team.
i love the fa cup, and the league cup come to think of it, without them it becomes a one competition bore fest, at least we have chance of winning something else, if we take it seriously.
if we'd have won today in my eyes it makes us stronger as a team, not weaker and heading for a downward spiral.

For me it just puts unnecessary pressure on the team and manager for next week now and also burns off a bit of feel good factor that had been building

Also what a weird game to watch considering we couldn't see half of it with the fog . At one point we had a corner and I was waiting for the ball to come and didn't even know we had taken it until the ref gave them a free kick

One of the weirdest games I've seen and didn't even feel like I was there . Although I was right behind the Varane goal which was a cracker

Don't know about anyone else, but the question is being asked in bad faith so i've answered in bad faith.

The changes made it difficult to maintain a solid performance throughout. It was an especially big ask of Edwards giving him his first start so soon after joining the club at the back of a very altered lineup against strong opposition. On a positive note though the players tried really hard, were effective at times and will have learnt a lot. Plus no-one else got injured. What I wanted was 2/3 changes max and a show of our strongest possible side put to the test. On the other hand we've just prepared ourselves for another injury crisis with a few more players that much closer to being able to slot in and do a job when we need them.
