I wonder why that bit is in Gaelic? Anyone know?

The churchyard where he's buried said it wouldn't be appropriate to have that written on his gravestone. So Spike and his family came up with the Gaelic version 😇

It's typical Spike 😂

If you haven't read Milligan's books on his wartime experiences I highly recommend them. Adolf Hitler: My Part In HIs Downfall and Mussolini: His Part In My Downfall.

Piss yourself laughing funny and also rather sad in some places.

Read them folks.

Yeah, I was aware of the Irish connection but thank you, loneranger, for the proper answer to the question I was asking. The fact his surname was Irish was an obvious reason why some of the inscription was in Gaelic but was not the reason why only that sentence was in Gaelic.
