It was mentioned a while ago that the site was going to be improved at some point.
Here are some suggestions:
1. Add year to threads and posts so you've got a clue when something was posted.
2. Add ability to link to individual posts in other threads (at the moment you can only link to the beginning of another thread).
3. Add support for linking to a particular time in a Youtube video. This would be handy for longer music and football videos.
4. Add support for linking to other video providers e.g. Vimeo.
5. Fix the LFW Windows 10 Chrome bookmarks bug.
No icon when creating a bookmark for LFW in browsers in Windows 10 by TacticalR 15 May 2016 21:42On my laptop when I create a bookmark for any page in LFW in Windows 10, then the LFW icon isn't shown, just the default blank icon for the browser. I use Chrome but I can see the same behaviour in other browsers (Firefox and Microsoft Edge). LFW is the only site I see with this problem, all the other bookmarks show their correct individual site logos.

Windows 10: Version 1511 (OS Build 10586.0)
Chrome: 50.0.2661.102 m
Firefox: 46.0.1

Well atm the arse has fallen out of the advertising completely overnight and people are paying for things out of their own pockets so, like I say, I think tech developments and improvements are someway down the list atm. Does it function, does it still exist - that's basically what we're going for for the forseeable. |

That wouldn't save memory. Only the (text) links to Youtube videos will be saved in LFW's database. The actual Youtube videos are on Google's servers somewhere. | |

Thinking about this a bit more...as a rule of thumb, I'd say that the days of computer hardware bottlenecks are over. Users see that with ever more powerful computers for the same or less cost. Most of the problems we see are human bottlenecks (lack of developers, badly-designed software etc). | |

That, I think, is to do with the new mobile site coming down the pipe shortly. ATM if you post a straight YouTUbe link the mobile site will fit it to whatever window you're viewing the site in. If you use an embed code from YouTUbe, or add any more stuff ot the address, it can't do it. I'm having to redo all the YouTube embeds in our stories as well. | | | |
