We were much more balanced with two holding midfielders. Thought both Fulton and Carroll played well...but when our full strength midfield is back, will shelevey play?
For me Carroll have done enough to hold down a first team start.
My midfield when at full strength would be
Rougtledge , Carroll, ki, siggy, montero

More balanced as in we kept our lines. They couldn't get in between our defence and midfield like Blackburn did and Chelsea did. Why? Because the two players I mentioned were more disciplined than when siggy played in there and when shelvey played in there. I'm not saying that they are better than them I'm just saying that shelvey and siggy are more offensive players.

Because the two players I mentioned were more disciplined than when siggy played in there and when shelvey played in there. I'm not saying that they are better than them I'm just saying that shelvey and siggy are more offensive players.

A very uneducated observation by saying "6 in defence" ... The tactics was spot on playing with two holding and very disciplined midfielders. (Who played in front of our defence)
They gave no space for Davis, Reed and Ward-Prowse to play. [Post edited 1 Feb 2015 22:01]

I doubt any of those three would get in our first choice midfield.
Cork, Ki and Sigurdsson looks likely, although Leon will have something to say about that. Great to have strength in depth. | | | |
