Wonderful finish to a game that started badly for Rs. We so often start slowly and could have conceded a couple of early goals as we failed to cope with WBA's physicality and pressing. Dickie's early booking was a worrying sign and Stef's passing was loose, as if he was trying too hard. Gradually Rs got their passing going, had more possession and by the end of the first half were arguably getting on top.
The beginning of the second period was fabulous. Gray's goal was disallowed, but that seemed to fire us up further. We moved the ball with pace and accuracy, Albert and Lee were finding space and giving the full backs a torrid time. Chrissy was on fire. Stef started chasing everything, closing down keeper and defenders, forcing errors. But the Baggies defended well and we only created a couple of proper chances.
WBA's big lad coming on began to shift the momentum and when Charlie came on (I thought Gray had been poor) the inevitable seemed possible. Of course with QPR the inevitable is unpredictable and usually only favours the opposition. Barbet coming back with the bandaged head was another inspiring moment. But West Brom created at least one glorious chance and had what seemed from a long way away in the upper Loft a good penalty shout. And then Charlie did what Charlie does. Magic!
Thought Dunne and Barbet (at least one out of this world tackle) were MotM. And Johansen's running and determination kept us going when we tired near the end.
